I am not what you see.....

The Lord is gracious and compassionate
By Graham Ord

The Lord is gracious and compassionate
Slow to anger and rich in love
The Lord is gracious and compassionate
Slow to anger and rich in love

And the Lord is good to all
He has compassion in all that He has made
As far as the east is from the west
That’s how far He has removed our transgressions from us
(repeat)

Praise the Lord, oh my soul
Praise the Lord
Praise the Lord, oh my soul
Praise the Lord

Man I love the above song....haven't heard it sung by Lorraine in awhile, but I found the mp3 of it and it just humbles me so much.

Jen Bong's blog really got me thinking about how we as people always think we know so much about someone when we reall don't. We always try to figure ppl out and we see a dominant side of someone and because they act that way predominatly in public, we think we have them figured out. No one knows though my thoughts when they don't see me when I'm at home. No one knows the struggles that shape me and constantly keep me on my toes. So how could anyone truly know me? You think 'cause you see me once a week or maybe even 2 hours a day that you've got me figured out? Guess again. It's why we can't assume we have someone else figured out because we don't see them 24/7 like God does. Just a thought.

Jackson brought up a good point on his blog too about how ppl are so open about their relationships in public and it's something I've learnt about in the past few months. I konw I am a pretty open person. My thoughts were that "hey if I'm open, others would open up too" but I've realized that it doesn't work that way. You're a fool if you think you can change others (only they can choose to change or God can change them). You're also a fool if you think everyone is so trustworthy. We need to watch out who we confide in. It takes a great deal of time for someone to develope credibility but an instant to destroy it. Do these ppl we talk to have credibility? Need to watch what you say at all times becuase ignorance and blind trust can sting you when you least expect it......

In the ACTUAL terms on relationships right now--not necessarily catered towards my own life but to many--my thoughts are quite complex. Haha, man, so many thoughts go in my head regarding this issue as I type this blog right now. My main thought is that we can never be full happy in a relationship. If we're not in one, we think constantly of who might our soulmate be. We worry about finding that special someone. If we find that soulmate, we are constantly worried about satisfying our mate and yet striving to honour God in a relationship by still keeping Him number 1 in our lives and staying in the boundaries of His laws with our mate. Also, we are also worried if that person will love us for who we truly are...100% everything......I question as to who thinks they know 100% everything there is to know about their mate. Some even wonder if there is someone else better for them when they're with someone...why the constant worry? Then there's the timing issue, is it the right time to get married? To have kids? What if we find someone we love but yet God tells us to wait for that person to be shaped by Him first? Or what if God tells us to wait because we ourselves aren't ready and He wants to shape us? Wow, relationships don't seem that appealing after analyzing all these frustrations and concerns but yet why is everyone spending all their energy by worrying over these issues? Man, I must say, for those of us who know someone who worries a lot, could you imagine what they'd be like if they decided they were going to take the first step and start looking for his/her soulmate? What a wreck that person would become by the end of it all!!! :P

wow so many questions. good questions though...very good questions. thus...enjoy the moment or phase that you're in now...enjoy the questions, enjoy the frustrations, enjoy because each phase He brings us to brings lots of learning and lots of pieces of who we are to be.

If I'm reading your blog right, I don't think anyone will ever truely love 100% of someone else as we are Human and we're not 100% perfect. There will always be something about someone that irritates the other because we are all built differently. It's how you show your feelings and how you react to these irritations... But an honest relationship is about accepting the other person for who they are, working out your differences and working on yourself to be the best partner. I once read that girls are like apples and boys are the ones who pick them. The best apples are always at the top. But it takes times for them to ripen. Sometimes boys go for the ones on the bottom, or ones that have fallen on the floor. Those apples are easy to get but aren't necessarily ripe. And sometimes they are spoiled and rotten. Sometimes girls think they will miss their chance to be picked ever and decide to drop down to the ground and end up with the first one who picks them up. But boys who put effort to climb the ladder and have patience in waiting for the apples to ripen at the top, will get good apples. And those girls who wait for someone who cares that much to climb up and pick them will end up with a true caring boy. Kind corney, but understandable?? Yes?

And I think that God wants us to be the perfect mate first before we "FIND" the perfect mate.

And the rest, well it's good to have a lot of questions. Communication is the key. A co-worker gave me some good advice on relationships which is, before you get married, make sure your future ideas are similar, meaning, the way you want to parent, the way you want to retire, the way you want to live. And although it's not very romatic or it may scare you or it may just not be something you feel like discussing, it's probably better you devour into all those complicated questions and get ideas between the two of you on the same track before tying the big knot.

But after all this advice King, just live your life. Be free while you can. Stop worrying your little head cuz you're still young and full of energy! And travel, learn about yourself, be molded by God first. A wife and kids changes the whole drawing board:)

And when God knows you're ready, he'll let you know. Maybe she needs to find herself too;)

I guess I've been thinking about relationships for a long time too:) Little experience but a whole lot of observing and learning!!

And my last comment is to make a whole lot of friends! Good solid relationships where you understand them and they understand you.

Oh and Openess which I could talk about forever too, is a good thing. It ties in with communication. Some people are just not use to others being open, but being open will help others open up. Just don't expect it to happen when you want it to happen. Some people take a long time and others are just not open people.

God Bless:)
