Yesterday was cool hanging out at Geo's and making Candy Grams. Chapters shopping was also great. Shepherd's Pie was yummy. Steak, cream of mushroom and corn was yummy. Balderdash was fun too. The hockey game was nerve wrecking...sheesh Calgary, that was a close call! :P Get L.A. outta here!!!!! :P Oilers, please get the job done today as well.... :P
I actually spent a bit of time outside today and I noticed that at the top of one of the hills in Citadel, I could see the Spyhill jail now....they've been doing lots of road construction and it's looking real good...I can't wait until it's all done and Stoney Trail can give us access to Panarama! :)
I went to school today to drop off my assessments from Hawkwood and when I visited my prof, she gave me a free copy of "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" despite me having this book already. What's cool about this baby is it's a teacher's edition so I have a resource for the future! :) My prof was also asking if I wrote a letter to Sun Alta School yet in thanking them for letting me see their school. Apparently only 7 people have done it so 10 haven't.....when I said "yes" to writing the letter, my prof said, "Yes, I should've known YOU would...it's so like you...thank you..." How nice....:P
Wow, I can't believe how many comics I've added to the "pull list." If anyone is into comics I suggest the writings of Ed Brubaker (Daredevil, Captain America, X-Men: Deadly Genesis, upcoming: Uncanny X-Men) and David Hine (Son of M, X-Men: The 198, Colossus: Bloodline, District X, Upcoming: X-Men: Civil War). I've been trying to win Brubaker's Captain American #1-16 on ebay for quite some time and I almost won today but I was outbid at the last moment...I think I was a bit too impulsive today! :P *SIGH*...the comics are sold out everywhere in Calgary...should I just buy the trade paperbacks or should I get the REAL comics? There is a sale for trades right now at Another Dimension but isn't the real thing better? Any suggestions guys and gals? :P

'Don't Look Back in Anger,' I heard you say.....
Yesterday, I had my last presentation in school for this year, and it was all planned out really well...or so I thought. We had two unexpected visitors who sat in in the class the whole time. They were these profs who were sitting in because my prof recevied some nominations for teaching excellence. It was so uncomfortable because one of them was this loud mouth chick who kept talking and interrupting our presentation; I think she thought she was the shiznic of teaching or something. Stupid idiot, keep your mouth shut please! :P It's weird how the dymanics of a group can change because there are 17 of us in my class and two were missing and then we added these other two profs....the converstaions changed drastically from what might have been if all was "normal."
I wonder where I put those old sketching pencils I owned. Did you know I used to love drawing so much when I was young? In fact, I could probably tell you that I wanted to be some sort of an artist when I was growing up haha....well, I drew everyday pages and pages of super heroes from the Marvel Universe and my own created heroes too.....I would spend day after day writing up Bios for these guys and coming up with storylines.....I guess you could say I wanted to be a writer too because I had storylines in my head. It's weird taking this program in University becuase I remember when I decided I couldn't draw and wouldn't pursue it anymore....a sad, sad story. Our Educaiton system doesn't nurture the development of these gifts as you grow older....it's a tragedy. I honestly feel I have been robbed of something. Maybe it's not just the system either though because my mom probably wouldn't have forked out the money for me to take classes and develope my art skills. I had the interest.....but I didn't even have a chance to see if I had the potential to make it....oh well, no use in reminising on what could have been right? :)

Score of 38....
Today was my last day at Hawkwood and let me tell you, it went by so fast. My partner teacher got the kids in the class to do a mock report card on how Mr. Wong taught them and then they drew a picture of me and wrote some stuff about me on the back of these sheets. The sheets were collected and it was given to me as a memory book of my class--God, thank you for such a wonderful class; I'm going to miss the kids I have spent all this time with! I think I'm going to go to Hawkwood's spring concert though...it's on May 11th and I'm hoping Jon and Crystal will be avalaliable for that becuase it'd be nice to have you guys around since you're from Hawkwood! :P Anyone else want to see some choir and handbell action??! :P
Some student teachers shed a lot of tears over this week, but yours truly can proudly say that he still has a heart of ice! :P

Tzatziki what?!
Wow, did you watch Lost this week? As Jon Chu would say, "Oh SNAP!!!!" :P
Speaking of TV, I'm downloading season 1 of Prison Break right now; I can't wait until it's done!
So today I went shopping for my students, partner teacher, principal, and drivers (who never allow me to take the bus home), and I bought lots of books and junk food. One of my friends let me have some of her pita and hummus today and so I just had to stop off at Sobey's after Wal-Mart to pick some of this yummy food up. I also picked up some Tzatziki Sauce and dang, don't you think Tzatziki is the best thing ever?!?! Well, not ever--as that's an extreme--but you get my point! :P I knew I loved it but a few weeks ago, Jon Chu gave me some for my fries at Moxie's and now I'm starting to think I can use it for so much more! Suggestions on other things it would go good on?!?!

"What You See is What You Get...."
Today I got to visit Sunalta School and it was cool becuase it was an older school--it kind of reminded me of QE back in Junior High before the renovations. They're a very artsy school and the building itself is very small. They still use chalkboards too becuase the building is a historical landmark and it is illegal to pull out the boards to put white ones in! I actually could see myself teaching at this school though. If you don't know which school I'm talking about, it's the one where you go southbound on Crowchild and it's on the left right before 17th Ave and it has a huge mural painted on the side of it.
I met up with Flora to do some catching up at the U of C over lunch break. Nice talking and thanks for the prayer! :)
My prof said something to the class today about something I said about two weeks. Apparently what I said had such an impact on her, she kept thinking about what I said for the past little while. I don't even remember saying the quote she said but she talked about it for awhile and thanked me for saying it after class. I'm glad she got something out of it but really, what a freakshow! This is what education is all about! :P All I said was, "What you see, is what you get!" and she talked on and on about the implcations of what I said. Yes, hmmmm....is my faculty weird?!?! Teachers aren't weird guys, seriously...it's just the profs from the U of C..... :P

"Now you have something to blog about..."
That was what Jacklyn said to me when I found chewed gum in my salad at Sushi Tokyo.
"Maybe it was yours and it fell out of your mouth," Jackson suggested. Nice try, but I don't chew minty gum. Did you know that about me? Well, now you do...I only chew fruity gum that lasts a long time and so far, there are only two flavours which I have found do that...do you know which ones I'm talking about? :) The losers at Sushi Tokyo didn't even offer me a discount or a free meal--I won't be going there for a long time if I have anything to say about it.....:P
So how was the rest of my weekend? Well let's see, I managed to get my Computer fried due to a powersurge! Stupid expensive surge protector--you do nothing!!! :P My printer was messed up for a bit but seems okay. The bass for my computer speakers seems to have stopped working too. My comp is now fixed but it acted weird. The screen just turned black for some reason while I was getting some documents ready for school; this required a rebooting. :P
One good thing that happened though was I got 10 hours of sleep or so on Friday night and then in the afternoon, I took a 2 hour nap haha. Too much sleep but I was really exhausted from a really successful week at Hawkwood School and of course, the Leprauchan Dancing during YAC! :P
You know, I went to school today in such a good mood. I was talkative and happy at the beginning of class but then by the end of the 3 hours, I was in a sour mood and wanting to get the heck out of there. I hate being such a downer but man, U of C Education Program is the PITTS!!! I had a great week at Hawkwood being a teacher and I know I want to be one but it's this whole freaking program that confuses me and makes me wonder, "Is it worth it? Can I survive? Maybe I should be working in a company involved in the Oil Sands?"
New KUTLESS tommorrow BABY!! Will I have time to swing down and grab it?!?! I want it, I want it, I want it! And what Kingston waints, Kingston gets....:P

Are schools filled with creeps?!?!
Two stories. Story the firstith. One of my students slapped me in the butt today. He laughed so hard to which I replied, "That was UNACCEPTABLE!!!" His face turned into a frown pretty fast. Haha, poor guy. Still, that wasn't what I wanted to say to him. No, what I really wanted to say was, "That's sexual harrassment!!!!" Do you know why I didn't say it though? It wasn't becuase I didn't want to embarass him or anything, it was the fact that I didn't want the world to know that a grade 1 touched me there at the time. I feel so dirty inside...the child had more implications on my mental stability than I could have imagined. I'm sure I'm going to have nightmares about this from now on when I try to sleep!!! :P
Incident the secondith. There is this really cute kid in grade 1 who is part of the choir I help surpervise on Wednesdays and this kid has no idea who I am. However in choir, I can't help but to stare at him. He's half Chinese (I think) and has a buzz cut. What is so amazing about him is everytime he sings, he tries so hard; he's very ambitious. Whenever our music teacher tells the kids to do something like "sing louder" or "stress the last word when you sing this line," the boy's facial expressions change dramatically because he just tries so hard. It's hilarious and cute at the same time and I just can't help but to stare. Am I creepy for this? :P

"Is it, is it in yet?!?!"
Haha, does anyone know where the quote comes from in my title?
I really can't express how tired I am right now in words. Who would've thought that teaching could be so tiring eh?!?! LOL!!!
Today was the day my field advisor from the University came to see me teach and evaluate me. Wowsa, talk about pressure. Things went REALLY well today; more than I could ever hope for actually. The Science unit on magnets was REALLY fun and it's basically done. I've covered all the SLEs (Standard Learner's Expectations) for the unit but we're still working on some magnets stuff for the kids as it ties in with Language Arts and Art.
Yesterday, my partner teacher had a meeting with the Art Teacher all afternoon (along with a lot of other teachers at Hawkwood) so I had to run the class the whole day and it just showed me that yes, I CAN do this! Tommorrow, I get to do the same with the morning though as my teacher is meeteing has a meeting for IPP (Special needs students).
Now, it's just a matter of getting the 20 page paper done and then the semester is done!!!
I've been thinking a lot lately about what I want to do for summer. DVBS? Teach English in China? Be a teacher assistant at Chinook College? Hmmm....the possibiliities! What to do though?
1 more week until the new KUTLESS CD BABY!!! Can't wait! Speaking of which, did anyone get the notice from CP about them changing the the gift certificate from $30 to $10 after you get 10 points? Freakin' stupid! I mean yes, it's good we don't have to spend $30 a month now to get a point, but the end reward sucks big time....what's the incentive to shop there now? Too bad Blessings is too far away! :(

What's Azn about you??!
Haha, I'm so tired today. Why'd you guys make me watch that movie so late at night?!?! :P
It was a day that went by so fast simply beucase I was involved in a lot of the teaching at school today. So I'm done 3 of 5 of my required lessons and I can't wait until this week is over. I'm enjoying it all though. I really have my off days don't I? I know it was just this pass weekend where I complained about not knowing if I was going to be able to hack it as a teacher. However, if I make it pass this week, pass the 2nd year practicum, do well on my interivew with CBE and land a full time job somehow with some school that's willing to take me, I know I'll have passed all the hurdles in becoming a teacher. Getting passed that will drive me to do what I need to do to be the best teacher I can be. It won't be easy; I'm not saying that passing those hurdles will be. I just know that the adventure really starts when this part of the training is done.
So I've been thinking, "I'm pretty white washed aren't I?" Haha.....I know though, there are some things about me that make me so Chinese. For example, I love my cakes mildly sweet. Gotta love fruit cake baby! I love my Bubble Tea too. Dang, I don't crave coffee, but I do crave this wonderful Taiwanese sensation. It's the only thing out of that country I am addicted to...unlike SOME people..haha, *snicker snicker* I also love my rice; I eat it twice a day. Although, I have to confess, I have started getting sick of rice over the past few weeks! Maybe I'm giving up some of my asian ways due to living in this Western melting pot! What kinds of things make you Chinese? What are the things you love that you just can't give up due to being Asian? Oh tell me 'cause I'm dying to know! :)

OH CRAP!!!!!!
****Warning, semi SPOILER ALERT for 24****
Did anyone see the ending on 24 this week?!? What the heck?!?! I had tears in my eyes...ALMOST....:P Haha....I wasn't expecting THAT!!!!! If you saw it, just don't tell Judy--she's only on season 3!!! :P
So speaking of which, did you know that I've never bawled to a movie or a TV show?! I've been saddened by some things (eg. Jesus getting nails in His hands where my eyes got a bit wet), but the rivers did NOT flow.... :P Anyone else have stories of crying or not crying to movies/TV shows? :)

Mauled or Molested?!?!
So what sucks about the U of C Dental Coverage is that I'm only covered for check-ups at four locations around Calgary. For the past two years, I had a choice to go where I wanted and I was really happy at Brentwood becuase everyone there was so nice and I was treated like a human being and not a piece of meat. However, Brentwood doesn't offer coverage for U of C students anymore so I picked the Dental Clinic in the Scotia Centre downtown. The first clue that all was not well here was when the dental hygene lady came for me but didn't make any effort to be nice. There were no "how are you?" or "so what are you taking in University?" Well, the dental chick wasn't very nice let's just say. When she was scraping the build up off my teeth, she was getting water all over my face! Okay, it's my teeth that needs to be cleaned here; I don't need a shower at this time thank you very much! And then when she polishing my teeth, dang, what a crappy job...she just did it super fast...she didn't take the care on polishing each tooth most hygenists I've had have done. When she was flossing, I couldn't tell if she was trying to truly floss or ram her fist down my throat. She also told me about something they offered at their clinic that I've never had before and wasn't covered for. It was some check performed on your bones to see how they are arond your teeth and how your gumlines are. It costs $25 and took 15 minutes. I accepted this service. Big mistake!!!! She was ramming this needle in my gums to see when it would hit the bones in my mouth to determine the thickness of my gums. I was skwerming, screaming, sweating and shaking. It's weird becuase everytime you go to a new dentist, they make you fill out this form for al new patients and one of the questions on their form was something like "are you afraid of the dentist?" I checked "no." I mean, I've had some bad experiences as a child but I thought I've overcome those fears....let's just say, after that check-up, I'm afraid to even go back there. I have been pondering the events of this morning and truly, I feel like really dirty inside for some reason. I honestly feel like my mouth was rapped!! Um...once I get coverage through CBE for dentalcare, I'm going back to Brentwood baby...heck, even Kurliek up in Sandstone wasn't that bad (despite how he tried to milk me for what I was worth!). OH what a horrible experience! The only thing I can think of that was positive about the whole experience was I got to get some food from Sunterra in Bankers and I got a Smokie from Chicago Franks in the Bay...yeah baby, I haven't had anything from Chicago Franks in years--almost since the Sue Ann days.....
Now I'm at school though. I'm suppose to prepare for a presentation but we'll see....I just had to get this blog finished first!! :) PAYCE!~

" It was the Emergency Drainage Commissioner in Springfield"
Today was one of those days that I felt exhausted emotional, physically, psychologoically, etc. The day started off well as it went by really fast at Hawkwood. I got my first two lessons planed out pretty well on the Magnetism Unit I'm teaching in Science starting next week. Still, I feel drained and I need to sleep in. My devotion today talked about stress and how a bad sleeping cycle can be detremental to your health. Hmm, makes sense. I need to sleep in but I won't tommorrow beucase I have a dentist appointment at 10am downtown and that means I have to wake up at 7:30am or so....:P It's not as early as I usually get up for practicum, but still, it's not a sleep in day. :)
Something weird just happened as I was writing this blog and this is my second time writing it actually. My computer screen just turned black all of a sudden with a rectangular white box in the upper center of it and below were a row of red dots...The first line had 1 or 2 dots, and then the 2nd row had 4 or 5 and then the 3rd row had more than that....what happened to my comp? I am scanning for viruses right now but I don't think that's it? I hate computers sometimes......so, so much....
It's weird seeing how the blogging community has gotten...Andrew, I tried to comment on your blog but you wouldn't let me.....but I would've said, "hey sorry to hear you go....you are important to the blogging community and we'd be at a loss without you...don't leave dude!!!"
Also, some ppl have evolved into quite the emotional beings. They have revealed more and more about themselves. Pros and Cons...nice change though. :)
Then you have people who write about nonsense....I still think it's the most amazing phenomenon when you have known someone for such a long period of time and yet you actually know nohting about that person. Reading a blog of someone like that is as if I have known someone for years and still haven't gotten comfortable with the aftermath of "hello, how are you?" I can't stand the layers people put up...does that mean I'm suppose to pry until the walls are gone or does that mean you truly don't want to show what's really going on inside? Or maybe there IS nothing inside to pry into becuase nothing is truly going on? No, I can't believe the latter.....still, prying is so annoying...it reminds me of how guys are 'suppose' to be the ones to chase girls....you try putting your heart on the line and be on the receiving end of the rejection.....:P (Haha, where did that last sentence come from? Off topic from my initial thoughts....:) )
So since some are taking more initiative in being more revealing about their emotional/spiritual/psychological states, I will too. I will be a little more revealing as to my state of mind right now. I was seriously pissed off as I was writing this, but it is nothing related to what I wrote about (except the computer thing). Someone in my family did something really stupid an hour ago...but hey we all make mistakes right? God has set my frustrations and anger into empathy and forgiveness....but the computer thing that just happened just added a little icing to the cake!! :) Thank God for my baby though because sometimes, you can say the funniest things and get me in the right mood.....:) Thanks for doing what you do so best....*sigh*...I miss you terribly...come home soon......

Not so bad after all!?!?
Everyone was complaining today in class that the roads were becoming really slippery and that there was a severe snow warning for Calgary today so my prof let us out of class early. She cancelled our two hour field seminar. Maybe I was wrong about her; maybe she's not as cruel as I thought? :P I got home by 1pm and worked on some school work. Man, it's gonna be a busy month. Please God get me through this. I can't do this; I need your help.....
I was told by a classmate today that my prof is really wanting everyone in her class this year to be in her class next year.....there are pros and cons to this though. Pros: I know what my prof is all about so there are no surprises. I don't have to go for a new prof as this risks me getting a sucky prof for my final year. My prof is one of those profs that looks for good things to say in all of her disciples. Also, I could get a real good school like Olympic Heights as my prof basically looks over Hawkwood and Olympic Heights only....:P I'd love to work there! :) Wouldn't it become if Pierson became my student? I'd slaughter him so bad!!!! :)
Cons: my prof can be nuts at times as she's a fanatic of the whole program. She's old and very overwhelming...reminds me of a grandma at times...she's a buly at times too...Also, I think for my writings, I'm running out of things to say so if I had another prof, it' be easier to do some "repeats" of my writiings lol....
So now the burning question: Deal or No Deal? Which way to go?! Should I gamble with the 50% chance of getting someone better (with the other 50% chance of getting someone worse), or keep the prof that is mildly torturing me and making me bleed slowlly??!

Mixed Blessings?!
I woke up today at 10:30am and of course I'm still tired regardless of sleeping in. I have found out that I can do pretty well if I maintain a consistant sleeping schedule and although I am able to do it for most of the week, I break the cycle because of the weekends. You'd think that the weekends is a gift but really, it's a mixed blessing because I end up sleeping late on Saturday night and that 'cuases me to be tired on Sunday for church the next day. It gets worse. On Monday, I can't recover from the sleepiness experienced on Sunday and thus it makes me feel miserable on Mondays. Sometimes I can recover and start feeling better over the course of the next few days, but then sometimes, I can't. *SIGH* I guess there's just no satisfying me eh? haha!!
This topic of mixed blessings reminds of the years of me hating the classes I took in Econ. I kept thinking, "it's okay, once I'm in Education, I'll be okay. If I endure this, I can get into Education and I'll be happy. I know it's going to be crappy because of the workload and other elements of the program, but I'll be be happy because I won't be in Econ anymore!" Oh boy, was I wrong. I still despise school more often than not. However, I still have to keep reminding myself, I can do this. God got me into this program, and He can get me out of it. I place such constant effort to remind myself at the beginning of the week, "this is where I want to be; this is what I want to do for the rest of my life."
There are even times when I've been too cynical about my church and elements of it. However, God really reminded me of something. I was looking for a church where I could call home. I wanted a place where I could feel comfortable with being me and being a part of a family. I wanted a place where I could worship God with others who desired His presence. I have that. I remember a friend telling me, "Wow Kingston, people clap at your church?" I take such things for granted.
I can't believe how easily it is to forget how great things when things are going good. It happens so often with me. Haha, take for example when I had braces. I prayed so much to God to get the process over with asap and that He would get me through the pain. However, when I got them off 3.5 years later, I have compeletely forgotten to thank God that my teeth have not shifted since getting those metal contraptions off and praising Him for the comfort that bestows me in having nothing metallic in my mouth. I even have forgotten to praise Him for the $5000 smile which He's blessed me with.
Wow, I didn't mean to make this a serious blog lol...it's not that bad...I hope the braces story lightened things up a bit... :)
On another note, I hope you're all watching "Deal or No Deal" becuase that show is hot!!!! :)
24 was also a great episode this week....had my heart racing.....:P Probably the best one so far...I love that Chloe O'Brian.... :) And not because of her looks but because of her brains baby!!!
Tobogganing '06
Once upon a time, it was a night of Wings and Bubble Tea at Bubblemania for me and a few of my friends from High School. There was earth shattering news of an engagement.....well not really, as most of us expected it haha. Congrats to Linda Cung and her engagement to Kal! :P What a way to start off the evening!!
Afterwards, I went toboganning with Crystal, Karen and Steph. Wowsa, I laughed at Karen for flying in the air after hitting a bump in the rocks but afterwards, I did the same and I have a huge bruise on my thigh. OUCH!!! Serves me right? Yup, I guess so....:P It was hard getting up that hill after the fall. There was some fun snow ball fighting action going and Steph had her falls here and there and it made me laugh and remember the good old times everytime she squealed! :)
Then we went to hang out in the den at Crystal's and Jon joined in the fellowshipping and they all got to eat my banana bread and we lived happily ever after........

The UnInspirational Story of Tuesday
So yesterday started off with me cleaning and giving the tiled floors in my house a good whipe. Mmmm...the feeling of cleanliness.....Turns out I'm not that lazy after all. I'm capable of doing at least one choice a week! :)
Bowling was super fun because I beat Karen and Crystal but I know if we ever played again, I'm sure I wouldn't be doing so good because I am not always that consistent.....I was fortunate enough to get a turkey (3 strikes in a row) to beat my friends....that was 5 pin though haha...super easy....the real test is 10 pin because I find it difficult to lug heavy balls and be accurate with them haha. However, trust in yourselves and you can achieve anything! :)
We went to Big T's BBQ and it was really good. We had the platter again but the first I had it with Jon Wong and Matt, I remember it not being that good...yet I told Karen and Crystal we should order it and it was better this time than last time. Leo came and helped us out but we still had a little bit left over...I was so full...why did I stuff myself? Because guys are stupid when it comes to food!!! :P Never admit defeat when it comes to food unless you're really going to die...that's an important lesson for us to remember! :)
Relient K was a very good concert. Thank you Jesus for sending them to Calgary for a show!!!!! :) The opening acts sucked...heck when we were eating dinner, we ever went later to miss the opening acts....but even though we were 40 minutes late getting in, we didn't miss the acts and they sucked badly. We ended up just sitting outside talking for the 2nd opening act. The show was super fun and the crowd was really into Relient K. They didn't sing "My Girl's Ex-Boyfriend" though haha...maybe next time. :( They also ran out of adult Medium and Large sized shirts--I told Jennanifer Bong to pick me one up in Edmonton for tonight's show...please get a shirt for me Jennanifer!! Please!!!!
Someone claiming to be from CPC nammed Anita called claiming Uncle Deam needed my address and SIN #. Who or what in the blue hazes is an Anita?!?! I know there is one at our church but who is she?!?!
A final thought for today: GO CANADA GO!!! Let's school these Russians!! Get it together c'mon baby!!!!!!

Fears
I was talking to Miranda, Jon, Crystal and Karen during the lunch after the AGM and it was a neat conversation becuase I was told that I was seen as being pretty confident which took me by surprise because I know I have that side of me too, but I see the insecurities I have. Because I'm aware of them, I don't picture myself as being that confident as a person. Interesting. Well, I guess deep down, it's a bit of a relief becuase no one said I was cocky or arrogant and besides not showing ppl my insecurities, another great fear of mine is becoming so big-headed. Pride is one of those things where you lose sense of reality. I try to make sure I have a good head on my shoulders so I can properly evaluate myself. If I became prideful, I'd lose complete discernment in that and if I can't trust my own judgement, that'd be a scary thing.
Other fears? Hmmmm....how about finding your true love but never being able to spend the rest of your life with that person? I always talk about how Jeremy Camp lost his true love to cancer after only being married for a few months when their relationship was delayed so many times becuase God had other plans for them. What if that happened to me? Could I handle it?
I've seen a few things in my lifetime which have totally affected me in a terrible way and could affect my relationship in the future. For example, the fallout of my parents' marriage. What if I've been so conditioned to become the same way my parents were like in a relationship? What if I'm a part of this vicious cycle who is doomed to the same destiny?
What if the things I've seen or the things I've done ends up destroying everythiing I hold dear to me? There are consequences to EVERY action. What if I can't shake all that has bounded me due to my stupidity?
What if I can't survive as a teacher? What if I'm doomed to burn out?
I am definitley pretty hot-headed--am I doomed to being so easily angered?
Am I going to be able to pay off my loans? Am I ever going to get a car? House? Wedding?!?!?!
I told Miranda that her and Grace were a lot a like. She asked me, "If I'm like Grace, does that me you and Martin are alike?" WHAT IF I'M LIKE MARTIN?!?! SCARY!!! :P
Why am I writing all of this? Well I read a list of Crystal's accomplishments on her blog and now I kind of want to do a similar list of my fears. That way, I can show you all that I am confident but deep down, I'm just as insecure as any other person. And I guess I just want to show that with God, you can overcome these things day by day. It's a constant battle, but with God, you CAN win! Sure, we all have these things we fear. We could choose to let these things cause us constant pain and live a life being bound to these fears. We could choose to believe that we're the only ones who struggle with our insecurities. We could choose to put up a front...but it doesn't have to be that way. We have to remember that Jesus died for us to set us FREE. Despite our insecurities, we have to remember that God is still above our fears and when Christ died for us, he liberated from all--even our fears!
I was talking to one of my youth about her insecurities and I told her I had struggled with the same issues as her. She didn't believe me becuase she thought I was way too confident to have struggle with that. I realized that maybe I'm not being honest enough about who I am....it's so easy to fear showing weakness, especially to those whom I minister to but what's wrong with showing oursleves as being vulnerable? I think I need to show this side of myself more to be a more effective minister and to be a better friend because I want to be a bit more honest with who I am. I think me choosing to not show enough of my weaknesses may have been detremental to my effective ministry to that youth I was helping out. I couldn't identify with her becuase she didn't see how her and I paralleled each other. Well, here's hoping to being more honest and fear showing...maybe I'll have more opportunities with that youth later....I hope it's not too late.....
