The Truth About Iceman

Okay, so the story started 3 issues ago with Bobby Drake aka Iceman having lost his powers and Lorna Dane aka Polaris (see above), believing she lost her powers...turns out that it's actually vice versa. It appears that Bobby only thought he lost his powers as the media telling everyone that mutants were losing their powers caused Bobby to believe he lost his powers and shut them down in his own brain. That's all find and dandy but it turns out that Polaris actually lost her powers for real.... :( It's not all in her head. Which makes sense because Scarlet Witch made sure her whole family (along with father Magneto and brother Quicksilver) lost their powers. It would only make sense that her half sister Lorna would lose hers too. This sucks 'cuase I love Polaris! She's got freaking green hair!!! :) I think they'll give her her powers back somehow eventually....there is a storyline with Apocolaypse coming back and maybe she gets them back by becoming one of his horsemen!!! Haha...I already saw a preview and it turns out that's how Sunfire (see above), is getting his powers back after Rogue stole them from him. He's also got his legs back as I heard they got sliced off haha!! :)

It's been a surprise to me that New Excalibur has been a pretty great read. I was collecting it merely becuase Dazzler and Juggernaut (see above) were in it.....but I love this series so far...

I love X-Factor SO MUCH....BEST READ of the day!!! :) You guys should seriously borrow this from me if you can't stop by and read it at your local comic/grocery/book store!!! :)

I picked up a total of 7 issues of comics today so I took my time reading today... :) See, I read! Sheesh....lay off and stop telling me to hit the books will ya?!!? :)

Watching "The Idiot Box".....

So what can I say? It's been a great ending for another season of Amazing Race and for Survivor. I like when things go my way.... :P I look forward to another season of each show starting in February.

Speaking of new seasons, 24 and American Idol start in January and it looks like my time spent on the tele will increase quite significantly in the next few months! I just hope school doesn't collide with the time I need to give to television lol.

BTW, Lost is a repeat tommorrow...DANG.... :(

My arm is tired after writing Christmas cards and I'm still not done getting the cards out for the youth. I don't know if I'll get cards out for anyone else this year...I know, I'm all talk. I was saying how I was going to give Christmas cards to everyone even if they weren't getting a gift from me but I am just sick of writing....haha....we'll see... :) My writing is messy anyways right? Haha...just smile and nodd and agree with me on this.... :)

Getting What I Want.....:D

I managed to go to Superstore with my bro this afternoon and I bought some stuff for people, myself and some groceries. It's a struggle this month for the family bills but I got to pay for the groceries for once... :) WOW...can't believe how much debt you can rack up on food expenses!

I think I've figured out what to do with the the youth in terms of gifts and such for Christmas. I haven't started getting it altogether because I'm procrastinating but at least most of my Christmas shopping is done. Just gotta start wrapping and card writing and all!

Yesterday was a day in which I actually got to do everything I wanted to do. First, I ended up watching The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and it was a delight. Sorry Jonny, I couldn't hold out for you lol...I told you I was DYING to see it and I'm an impatient guy...:) I also got to watch the finale of Survivor with some of the church peeps instead of waiting to get home to watch it. If that happens, I'm usually thinking about the show no matter where I'm at...I'd need a REAL BIG DISTRACTION to get my mind off my shows. Well, I got what I wanted out of the day so strangely it was a productive relaxing day. :)

The Vow
by Kutless

Another year has come and gone but nothings changed
I've wasted another year doing the same old things
I want to break out of this and turn my life around
I'm going to make a vow to repent an turn to you.

[CHORUS:]
I'm crying out to you now as I make my new year's vow
I'll tell you I love you and I'll honor you somehow
Hear my promise to you in this new years vow I give
You all of me
You'll be all of my life and I'll never think twice to
do all that you have for me
In my new years vow

Lord I'll do my best to do, all that I say
I'm not perfect but I know, that's OK
If I stumble you won't condemn my shame
I'm going to make a vow to repent and turn to you

[CHORUS]

Its a new year this year is different
From the other ones... (repeat)

[CHORUS]

The above song speaks of what is so significant in my life right now. God's been really speaking to me about being a "dependent disciple"--someone who is open to God's leading, but takes his own initiatives in his walk towards holiness. As we take our own intiatives and walk, God will empower us. As we as farmers lay the seeds and water it, God will make it grow. There's a balance between acting on our own and relying on God at the same time to work in us. Often times I get fed up with issues and people that I pray "God, let me have your love for these things and these people becuase I can't deal with them." Really though, God wants ME to have my OWN love and take initiative with that....it is MYSELF that needs to love them and love the circumstances I'm in....I need to take action myself and not just let God do it through me as some passive bystander....how humbling this lesson has been for me. It's hard and I still find it difficult....but God's shown me I have to take some steps....I really don't want to go through the same loop I've been stuck in for the past 6 months-year. So much has happened to me and my heart has grown so hard is so many ways. It's always as John Rueben says a struggle of "The boy vs. The Cynic." There just seems like there are so many issues in life that I can't get through....sometimes I just want to explode or run away and get myself far away from the problems that so easy tangle me up inside. I'm so sick of fronting for everyone like everything is so fine and dandy and that my problems are so insignificant. It's funny how we can believe that our problems aren't anything but if we don't deal with them and bring them to the light, the pile just gets bigger and bigger and we find that our heart is weighed down.....what does it feel like to not have a heavy heart? I almost can't remember.....anyways, my vow is that the year 2006 will be a different one.....

Haha...with that in mind, don't get me wrong..I'm so blessed and I've got lots to be thankful for....I am not just someone who dwells on the negative...but despite them being in my life, I still got lots to be thankful for:

-The holiday I'm on. Man, the hard work has led me to a pit stop on this jouney called life and I'm taking advantage of this break baby!!!
-My friends who constantly stick by me despite my flaws....where would I be without a good and true friend to keep me in check on a regular basis?
-Salvation which will never leave me. Heaven-bounded with no detour baby!!!
-Her...who has stuck by me and shown me that even a guy like me could actually be capable of the emotion to which I never thought I could feel. Yup, it's crazy, but I've been shown that even I deserve some companionship and I never thought I'd find it....seriously!!!
-Family. Things will never be the same again...I really think this is the last year we'll all be living together.....(if not the second last year!! haha!!)...but despite how my bros have flaws, I can't say I would trade them for anything and we've had good times...a new chapter will begin soon. My parents aren't perfect...but what can I do? Their blood flaws through me and we're a part of each other. I love them no matter what. God had good in mind when I was born...even if there was a risky C-Section involved for me to have life.....here I am because of them!

Life is the most complicated thing but it's funny how at the same time, the goodness can be enjoyed despite that it exists with that which can bring us down....Hmmm...yeah, I can't believe it...what am I thinking...did I just type all of that or am I dreaming? Hmmm...how good one can feel after ranting and giving praise to Jesus for the blessings in my life.... :) Take it easy all; I know many of you have exams. God's blessings to you! PAYCE!

Soy = Cow?!?!

Sweetness! I got 10-11 hours of sleep today....was EXHAUSTED all day yesterday so I had the "pass out" sleep again....when I woke up...I ate lunch lol. I managed to make some cream of mushroom soup (which is one of my favorite 'white man's' soups actually). Only, when we have to add the 1/2 can of milk and 1/2 can of water...do you guys do that? I've tried adding a full cup of water and it's nasty compared to real good cream of mushroom soup. Well today I tried putting 1/2 can of soy milk (becuase we don't buy regular white milk..we buy soy becuase we have a member in the family who appears to be lactose intolerant...though we buy chocolate milk!). Well you know how it tasted? It was pretty good! Not AS GOOD as REAL cow's milk...but soy milk here made a good substitute! I wonder if it can truly be a full substitution for cow's milk though...I guess the last test would be to put soy milk with cereal and see how that is!!! :)

Dude, the mandarins are SWEET this season! I just bought a case for the family...I know, the generosity is just flowing out of me isn't it?!?!

Yesterday, Alicia and I met up for our 2nd annual end of semester celebration (minus Jon Wong who broke the tradition we formed last year after completing our RELS 205 exam....). We did some Christmas shopping and then went to the food court and we ate so much...more than I usually eat anyways....:P We shared a meal from that healthy restaurant...what is it called again?! Dang...help anyone? It just slipped my mind...it's equivalent to Veggierama though...haha.... After that, we were still hungry so we got a large NY fries and after gobbling that up, we were still hungry so we got a large order of curly fries from Arby's.....I felt so gross after that....but I managed to sneak in a mandarin orange into my stomach after that after saying "bye" to Alicia lol....The last time we met up to celebrate the end of the semester was for all you can eat so we had to pig out too on this occassion! :P

Wow, it's been 5 straight days of blogging; amazing what you can accomplish on blogger when all your assignments are done!!! :) That's it for today folks! Payce!

4 Days in a Row!

Wow, I've blogged everyday this week so far--I should get points baby! :P Haha....today's quote is simply inspiring as it comes from a great and credible source. Don't you think so? :)

"Challenges make you discover things about yourself that you never really
knew. They're what make the instrument stretch- what make you go beyond
the norm."
-Mike Tyson

School's out for a month--see you suckers later!!! :P J/K...although I AM gonna freak out!! Congrats to all you MT students on conquoring another semester!! :P I'm prayin' for the rest of you freaks! Keep going; you're almost there! :)

Hey I got another student award but this one is from the government. It's called the Canada Millenium Bursary...only I have no idea how much I get! :P I have to pick up the cheque at the U of C after Jan. 1st. Thank You Jesus for your Grace and Provisions.....I relluctantly accept this award.... :)

I'll Have Your GEEK!!!

"Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition insipired, and success achieved." --Helen Keller

When my friend cried in Case Class on Tuesday, she gave us all each candy canes with inspiring quotes on them and this is the one I got. It's only fitting as I watched the movie based on the true story about Helen Keller recently. I've never heard of her until today; I feel sheltered. What an inspiring Story.

Yes, it's true, not everything in Education that's mushy has made me puke. I'll miss my friend from Case as she and I knew each other from "The Mount Royal Kids Camp Dayz."

One more day left at Fort Calgary. I wasn't going to buy them a goodbye present type thing...but I bought them some treats as the student teachers from the Beta House bought treats for the staff and Matt and I aren't going to let the Beta House outdue us! Down with Beta House!!! :P

As for who the answer to my question from my last blog...here it comes...don't read on if you want to guess before finding out the answer....:)

*SPOILER ALERT*

The answer is C) X-Factor. Here's a pic of the first issue I bought from that series....

This makes sense if you look at the cover. The blond guy is Havok and he led the team for several years. The title got cancelled eventually (along with a lot of titles from Marvel), and Havok and Polaris (chick with the green hair) are now in X-Men where they belong!!! :) The other three characters are Multiple Man, Wolfsbane and Strong Guy who will be in the new X-Factor monthly series starting in 1 week! You bet I'm picking up this issue; I love X-Factor!!! For more about X-Factor, click the link under my profile to see what these characters look like and who forms the main roster for this x-citing new comic!!!

Warning: Geek Alert....

So today was the last day of lectures for me; I only have 2 days left in the field at my CW and then I'm free for 4 weeks! I am really going to miss my Case classmates. We shared so much in class and became vulnerable with one another. Despite me not being the biggest fan of my Case Prof, she did good in proving the environment where I could become so close to a WHOLE classroom of students. One of the girls cried today lol..... :P At least I will still be with my buddies from Hawkwood. I can't believe that also means I will have to see my Field Prof for 8 hours a week! How am I going to get through it!?!?

Man, I'm addicted to more comic titles than I've ever been. I used to only buy one monthly title when I was in elementary school. Then it increased to 3 in High School, then 6. Now guess how many I'm collecting? Let's see, I have to write this all down:

Astonishing X-Men (coming back in February)
X-Men
Uncanny X-Men
X-Factor
Excalibur
New X-Men
Runaways
New Avengers
Young Avengers
Next Wave (coming in January and written by WARREN ELLIS!!!)

TEN TITLES!!! OUCH!!! I've been tempted to buy some more too lately!!! For example, I bought the first two issues of She-Hulk...GREAT READ but low on money....what to do? "Haha....I Love you She-Hulk"--Chris Griffin, Family Guy

Hmmmm....that's not including mini series too. I'm collecting : Son of M, Generation M, X-Men: The 198, and possibly Daughters of the Dragon!!! These are all only 4-6 issues in length for the series so at least it's not monthly!

It's great though because I've had a hobby since I was a child and I've stayed true to it...I think I'm truly a Marvel Comics NERD!!! Gotta love it though! So if I've collected comics since the age of 7 or so, what do you guys think was my favorite comic back then? I'll give you a hint, I still collect it today....here is a shortened list to give you a hint by narrowing the list down to four titles. These are the only four titles that are still around today that existed in the 90's anyways!! :P

a) X-Men
b) Uncanny X-Men
c)X-Factor
d)Excalibur

Good luck and explanation to come! Wow, what a geeky blog today! You Love it!!! :)

Am I Anti-Social?

So it's 2:20pm and my Professional Seminar ended early so that my prof could treat us to drinks in the Graduate Lounge. I didn't go but am waiting for the bus to arrive in 15 minutes or so. I actually like most of my classmates a lot but this is probably the one class where I haven't gotten to know most of them on a real personal level. I told my friends in the class that I was tired but I guess I'm not as tired as I have given the impression of being. Oh well, gotta get home...still got lots of work to do until the semester is over.....3 more days to go....:)

In reply to Jackson's comment:

"The bad thing about listing, is it doesn't allow the other person to be thoughtful. But the really bad thing about listing your wishlist is you might get doubles! :)"

Hey, I said I wasn't expecting anyone to buy this stuff for me but if it happens, GREAT....although I do expect I will buy them on my own after the holidays have well passed. Honestly though, what I've posted, I don't think any of you could honestly say that if you were considering getting me a present could say "Yeah, Kingston needs Flintstones Season 4" or "I think we should get him a DVD Rack; that's what he'd really want!" :) Heh....it doesn't matter if I get what I want (if I get any gifts at all) because practically everything that's been given to me--whether I've liked them or not--I've still got the stuff that's been given to me and you can come and go through my inventory and see that. :) Oh well, at least most ppl can see that I'm not a regifter or anything like that.....I am just a guy who knows what he wants.... :)

So I picked up some Comics today and the way X-Men ended was that Iceman apprently has his powers back? What the?!?! Lol....that's the cliffhanger ending.....could it be true? Could Bobby be Iceman again after losing his powers for merely 4 weeks? Also, they just released the first X3 trailer! Not bad...not bad at all! :P Take a look! X3 Trailer

How you know Christmas is Comin'...

Man, I went to CP for it's 72 hour sale and came out with a very heavy purchase made. :P How do you know when Christmas is here? The debt you rack up!!!! :P

On the plus side, I bought plenty of stuff to keep me occupied for the 4 weeks I have off in purchasing some books and some new CDs. One of the new discs I bought was Tree63's Worship Volume One: I Stand for You. Good stuff. I Have a few of the songs already but this compelation is great becuase I get live versions of their greatest hits. Highly Recommended. I am debating whether I should get the CDs of a band called Falling Up. Anyone ever hear of them? They're with Tooth and Nail and I've heard good things. Couldn't decide whether or not I should buy the discs or not though....I guess I'll pray about it? :P

Speaking of X-Mas...here is my wish list. I hope I can get enough money to buy these things if not, get them for Christmas! ;P Since Alicia posted her list, I feel I should too just to compare our wants. :)

Wish List
---------

-Lost Season 1 DVDs
-Flintstones Season 2, 3, 4 DVDs
-Tall racks for CDs- Mine are all full already! :)
-Tall DVD Rack- my collection is expanding as we speak!
-Super Mario Strikers and Naruto for Gamecube- I STILL haven't watch the show of the latter but it looks good...as does this game!!! I want Mario so bad though... :(
-Dress shirts and Tie- It's time I start wearing these...:)
-Gift Certs for CP, Chapters/Indigo

And as for flamboyant guy...you're so lucky that you got to see him again Jen....maybe we'll see him next year at YC...that guy rocks!!! :D

In MLA mode.. :)

Have you ever read a book only to find that you remember nothing about it? I'm currently reading (very slowly mind you), "The Phantom Tollbooth"--a children's novel I read in grade 6--and Joshua Harris' "Not Even a Hint"--a book about guarding your heart against lust. Man, I remember loving reading these books but I don't remember much about them at all. They're both superb books. The first book I'm reading is for pure lesiure while the latter is a book I'm reading to challenge myself. It's also a book that I believe really applies to what so many ppl face today--especially our youth.

Joshua Harris writes:

"I've come to believe that lust may be the defining struggle for this generation" (Harris, 19).

What was the statistic from the 1999? That by the time teens reach 18 years old, over 65% of them have lost their virginity? And then that statistic increases to 80% while students are attending college? That's truly saddening. Hmmm..apparently this statistic is a bit lower for people from Asian Cultures....Still though, it's pretty significantly high....

So how do we fight it?

Harris quotes from "Future Grace" by John Piper:

"We must fight fire with fire. The fire of lust's pleasures must be fought with the fire of God's pleasures. If we try to fight the fire of lust with prohibitions and threats alone--even the terrible warnings of Jesus--we will fail. We must fight it with the massive promise of superior happiness. We must swallow up the little flicker of lust's pleasure in the conflagration of holy satisfaction" (28).

Hmmm...holy satisfaction...sounds great doesn't it? :)

Nicknames...

So many ppl have them. And there's a story behind them all. Some are bad; some are good. So what are the ones you've had in your life? Lol...Jackson should really give points for whoever has had the worst nickname of all...but they'd need a story to back them all up. I've had serveral nicknames and I'm not afraid of exposing them. There's been King Kong, Kinky, Kinky Winky (like the TeliTubbie Tinky Winky, King, Kingston Minkston, Stinkston, etc.)...but the worst one of all was being called "Bra Boy" by Steph Ng. The story is that when her and I knew first met each other in grade 7, we weren't even friends. For some reason though, whe established nicknames for each other...I think it was through gym class...she really reminded me of a boy and I wanted to refer to her as Stepahine D. Lang...like the lesbian Canadian artist nammed K.D. Lang who sings "Constant Cravings." It was kind of harsh 'cause K.D. Lang looked like a man...but also because she was a lesbian...referring to Steph as her was kind of mean now that I think of it...but after this, there was an incident in gym class where she put her fingers on my back and was like "WHAT was THAT?!?! It felt like you're wearing a bra or something!!" From then on, she called me Bra Boy and I called Her Stephanie D. Lang when we saw each other in the hallways. That led to a friendship that lasted a few years.....funny how things are....I wonder who's nicknamed matched more correctly.... :) Maybe in the end I was more right then she was...:P

I am not what you see.....

The Lord is gracious and compassionate
By Graham Ord

The Lord is gracious and compassionate
Slow to anger and rich in love
The Lord is gracious and compassionate
Slow to anger and rich in love

And the Lord is good to all
He has compassion in all that He has made
As far as the east is from the west
That’s how far He has removed our transgressions from us
(repeat)

Praise the Lord, oh my soul
Praise the Lord
Praise the Lord, oh my soul
Praise the Lord

Man I love the above song....haven't heard it sung by Lorraine in awhile, but I found the mp3 of it and it just humbles me so much.

Jen Bong's blog really got me thinking about how we as people always think we know so much about someone when we reall don't. We always try to figure ppl out and we see a dominant side of someone and because they act that way predominatly in public, we think we have them figured out. No one knows though my thoughts when they don't see me when I'm at home. No one knows the struggles that shape me and constantly keep me on my toes. So how could anyone truly know me? You think 'cause you see me once a week or maybe even 2 hours a day that you've got me figured out? Guess again. It's why we can't assume we have someone else figured out because we don't see them 24/7 like God does. Just a thought.

Jackson brought up a good point on his blog too about how ppl are so open about their relationships in public and it's something I've learnt about in the past few months. I konw I am a pretty open person. My thoughts were that "hey if I'm open, others would open up too" but I've realized that it doesn't work that way. You're a fool if you think you can change others (only they can choose to change or God can change them). You're also a fool if you think everyone is so trustworthy. We need to watch out who we confide in. It takes a great deal of time for someone to develope credibility but an instant to destroy it. Do these ppl we talk to have credibility? Need to watch what you say at all times becuase ignorance and blind trust can sting you when you least expect it......

In the ACTUAL terms on relationships right now--not necessarily catered towards my own life but to many--my thoughts are quite complex. Haha, man, so many thoughts go in my head regarding this issue as I type this blog right now. My main thought is that we can never be full happy in a relationship. If we're not in one, we think constantly of who might our soulmate be. We worry about finding that special someone. If we find that soulmate, we are constantly worried about satisfying our mate and yet striving to honour God in a relationship by still keeping Him number 1 in our lives and staying in the boundaries of His laws with our mate. Also, we are also worried if that person will love us for who we truly are...100% everything......I question as to who thinks they know 100% everything there is to know about their mate. Some even wonder if there is someone else better for them when they're with someone...why the constant worry? Then there's the timing issue, is it the right time to get married? To have kids? What if we find someone we love but yet God tells us to wait for that person to be shaped by Him first? Or what if God tells us to wait because we ourselves aren't ready and He wants to shape us? Wow, relationships don't seem that appealing after analyzing all these frustrations and concerns but yet why is everyone spending all their energy by worrying over these issues? Man, I must say, for those of us who know someone who worries a lot, could you imagine what they'd be like if they decided they were going to take the first step and start looking for his/her soulmate? What a wreck that person would become by the end of it all!!! :P

The Point of No Return

Everyone reaches a point in their lives where they try something new in life and after trying this "new thing," they realize that their eyes are open. At this moment, things will never be the same again; things can never go back to the way it used to be. What is it for you? I can tell you a few things that I've tried out that have changed my life and because of that, I could never go back--I had reached the point of no return....

The transission to ankle socks....

That's right, for those of you who have tried these babies out know that ankle songs are WAY more comfortable. I not only have white ankle socks, I also have dress ankle socks. Once you've tried ankle socks, you realize how annoying regular socks are...you know, the way they agitate your leg hairs and all.....:)

100% cotton soft-ply toilet paper....

When I ended up living with my mother again in high school, I realized that though my mom isn't stingy about a lot of things, she is with toilet paper. We always buy purex--me and my bros. When I lived with my mom, she bought really rough crap for my crap and it was cheap 1-ply superstore brand toilet paper! OUCH! What were you thinking mother?! Don't worry, I'm back on Purex! :)

From Briefs to Boxers....

Hmmm....do I need to really speak that much on this? I've been hooked on boxers since my eyes were opened way back when I was in grade 7.

I could go on; there is so much more. There's trading in tap water for purified/bottled water, trading in dial-up for high speed internet, falling in love with Tim Horton's treats, meeting Christ, etc. Anyone got anything I haven't suggested? Imaginary penny for your thoughts! :)

"TAG..You're It!!!"

Okay, as most of you are aware, I've been blogging here and there about the changes in the X-MEN Universe--mainly, the loss of over 90% of the mutant population in the Marvel Universe. Some of you ask, "but why would they get rid of these characters?" Here's a partial answer. Meet Tag.

Real Name: Brian Cruz
Codename: Tag
Powers: pariah effect enables him to overwhelmingly compel people to run towards or run away and avoid a specific person he targets. Tag loses control over people as they run further away from him.

Okay so seriously, what kind of lame power is that? It's because of the creation of lame mutants like these which caused Marvel to say "okay, let's get rid of these characters..."

Seriously, if I were a mutant, I think I'd want Jean Grey's powers: telepathy/telekenisis. What about you guys and gals? Anyone agree with me? Do we have any takers for flight? super strength? super speed? Fortell the future? Come on there are so many powers better than the power of "tag!"

I am.....The Urinator!!!!

Jon Wong's blog had an entry last week about how he saw some dudes take so wizzes and didn't wash their hands after. However, I replied on his blog with this comment:

"there's power in urine.....

remember when you showed that arctile to me about how eating your boogers is good for you? well i read an article where urine staind hands actually help you think better because the toxins from the urine excite the neurotransmitters in your body and therefore make brains more active....pretty crazy!"

There were some comments after that which were quite hilarious but I have to confess that I lied about the article of peeing on your hands being good for you. I mean, it doesn't mean that what I said wasn't true. Who doesn't feel excited when they accidentally pee on their hands?!? Surely the neurotrasmitters do get excited and provide an adrenaline rush! :P Okay, I know where this is going, and it sounds so wrong so I think it's time to stop..... :P

Last night I came home to find out that my prof liked the final draft of my paper (my prof said he'd read it over before we could submit if we wanted him to check it over to make sure everything was okay), and he said it was good enough to be submitted for final submission! He also praised me in class and I was so thankful for it be done and over with. Why was I so worried about it being a crappy paper? Thank God, the hard part is over this semester..... :)

I got to watch Harry Potter on Saturday and yes, I recommend it. Go watch it! 'Nuff said! If you've watched it, come find me and we'll dialouge about this movie as I don't want to ruin anything for anyone who hasn't seen it yet. :P

Today, there was a violin player at Worship at the U who was following along with Art as he led and it sounded AMAZING!!! It was so southern...I wish we could've had a ho down!!

I didn't make it to lecture again today. Geo drove me home early and I wasn't planning on skipping but I was exhausted. I ended up sleeping 'til 10am and when I got to school, I was sleeping during the video we watched and could barely stay awake. I fell asleep on the ride home on the bus and now, I'm still drowsy!! Help!!

Okay, so how come most of you know that I love Kutless? Yeah, it wasn't that hard of a question was it? I don't listen to their worship album much and in fact, worship albums are the ones I listen to the least.....maybe United is the one exception but even them I don't listen to as much as other stuff.

Who knows my favorite Christmas song?!?!

"Christmas is the time where people from all religions come together to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ!" -Bart Simpson

Okay, I don't know what's going on, but Geoffrey left a weird comment on my last blog. I bet you Jackson had something to do with this! :P I haven't read blogs for awhile and so I'm out of the loop (I'll read when I finished updating!!). Well, actually Jackson said something about starting some blog awareness so good luck to everyone hahaha!

It's been my life's ambition (well not really!) to find ONE GREAT Christmas Compilation. I mean, there are so many out there and I never found one I liked. My bro has the Mariah Carrey CD but I FINALLY bought what I was looking for in 2005's WOW Christmas 2 CD compilation! Great CD guys!! Steven Curtis Chapman, Casting Crowns, Jarys of Clay, Kutless, Barlowgirl, Toby Mac, Big Daddy Weave, David Crowder Band--what more could I ask for? Hmm....even Clay Aiken made it onto this CD!!! :P

Does anyone know who my favorite Christian Artist is? Does anyone know which CDs I listen to the most often? You know, I buy so many CDs but there are only a few I can play continuously without getting tired of....any guesses? And how about my favorite Christmas Tune? Answers to come.... :)

I'm so in the mood for Christmas...can't wait to see my out of town compadres...especially a certain someone...:) And the Christmas Spending...I'm actually finally starting to get excited about it rather than dread it. Good thing I only have 3 more weeks of school until the holiday; I'll start shopping when classes are over!

Yummies!

You know what I really love eating? Girl Guide Cookies!! They're so awesome! Haha, once in awhile, I get cravings for certain junk foods I haven't had for awhile and good thing my brother picked up two boxes becuase I was craving those tasty minty cookies!! :)

What was great about this weekend was that I got to go to "The Broken Plate" for greek food with some old friends from grade school haha. The food was AWESOME! Dinner for two shared by three of us, Lamb, flaming cheese, greek coffee and banana crepes with Nutella!!! One of the best experiences ever, but maybe it's because I had great company too! :)
Who was there? Cathie, Linda, Kal, Tammie, Andrew and Kevin. Man, has it been a year since I've seen Cathie? One of my most special friends, yet we see so little of each other. You are truly a sister in Christ who cares very deeply for your friends and I great appreciate your understanding and encouragement. Thanks for planning the get-together and may we spend lots more money on tasty foods...here's to the next time we have a tremendous dining experience!

Today, Lorraine was at Worship at the U--one time performance it seems. She's been in Quebec as of late and will be heading to North Africa soon. It was a great time and she says "Hi" to all us CPCers.... :)

So much death lately it seems. I just found out last night at Geo's house that Eddie Gurrerro died. He was a wrestler for WWE and couldn't be more than just over 40 years old? It sounds dumb to be upset over his death to some of you I'm sure but as I watch RAW tonight and hear the other wrestlers pay tribute to him, it's very real how sad and shaken up they all are. There are tears gallore on the show and everyone is sending in their support to the widow and 2 daughters. My prayers out to them.....

More about *SPOILER ALERT*

Okay, so for those of you who haven't watched LOST YET....*SPOILER ALERT*....Read below at your own risk.....

SHANNON'S DEAD!!! I only heard about someone dying through Vibe 98.5 telling us to watch it becuase someone dies. Today though, I read in the newspaper how bloggers and online fans already knew it was her that gets killed despite the producers' attempts to conceal it. What a good way to die!! :P My other 3 guesses were Sawyer, Mr. Ecko or Jin...but I guess Shannon's death makes the most sense as they won't have to get Boon to come in anymore for flashback scenes and she's the most expendible. :P Kind of glad she's gone, but kind of not. I hate it when characters are killed off for the sake of killing someone off--just to "shake things up." The way she got killed was good though and it will really set up stuff for the future. I guess Geo knows my complaints about storywriters and doing this becuase he heard me vent my frustrations about comicbooks. Haha....like in X-Men...comicbook creators realized just now that there are too many mutants and therefore the original concept of the X-Men representing a visible minority doesn't work anymore so they're killing ppl off and making mutants all over the Marvel world lose their powers! So now, there are all these X-Men (eg. Iceman), who have permanantly lost their powers for the sake of story and to bring the X-Men back to its "original concept." *sigh*.....status quo is a good thing sometimes but I guess if things were always kept constant, comics and TV shows wouldn't be interesting right? People have to die and things have to change.... :P

*SPOILER ALERT*

Okay, for those of you who read this before watching Lost, I must warn you that there is a spoiler which I heard about in regards to tonight's episode so read on only if you dare....

Tonight, someone dies!!! That's right a main character from the show will die tonight and I wish I could spoil more by saying who it is, but I can only guess....who could it be?!?! :) I'll let you know my guesses after the show has played....so go watch it tonight at 10pm baby!!!

*UPDATED* 11:02pm- Oh geez....I can't believe it was this person!! Actually, this person was my 4th guess...... :)

mourning the lost....

Today I found out that one of the teachers who I knew at Hawkwood School got killed in a head on collision car crash and her funeral was yesterday. I was so shocked when I found this out. She was such a nice lady and hard working too. She was working 'til 9pm at school preparing for her lesson next day. Afterwards, she was driving to visit her kids and then she had the car accident. I seriously didn't know what to say when I found this out; everyone in class was speechless. It just really puts into presepective how small my problems are...I pray for her family as they mourn her loss. She wasn't that old....only about 42; that's young for a teacher.....

I'm a bit scared for tommorrow as it will be my first day at Fort Calgary...hope it's a good experience. *sigh...I'm glad I'm not at Hawkwood at this time becuase it would be sadness at the school and that would really overwhelm me if I were there at this time......it's a bit selfish of me to think that way but I guess it's a good thing that I'm not there throughout this ordeal. My prayers to the family, friends, school, and the rest of the community.....

Winter Camp?

Remember the good old days where we used to have Winter Camp in February? It was a weekend long and it was a nice refreshing time. Lately, I've been pondering those times and how come we don't have Winter Camp anymore? What has it been 3 years? 4 years? It's been awhile lol.

I remember the services yes but the most fond memories I have of Winter Camp was when (1) We made the giant snowball and it took ALL of us to keep rolling more onto it lol....who has a picture of it? I can't remember who, but someone does...wish I had a copy of that pic!! :P and (2) On the last day for group picture of one of our Winter Camps, somehow Pastor Katherine got rolled around into the snow by someone and afterwards; she was a mess!! Haha, anyone remember who did that? I have forgotten.....

There was talk of getting a Winter Camp going last year but I think this year I'd really like to see it happen. Who would be interested in going? It shouldn't be a hard event to plan though....I'm sure we could see if Sunnyside is open....I'm sure they're not that busy during the Winter anyways!! :P Getting a speaker for a weekend shouldn't be tough and then there's basically renting a bus (maybe?) :) Oh yeah and Winter Camp forms...and the worship teams...and going through The Board...Haha...wow, seems pretty overwhelming!! :P

MY ACHES

Who is sore?!?! My body aches and I woke up today at 11am....missed lecture because of staying up late and my aching body!!! :) Well, I've been in more pain before...one time last year, I was sore after one of our football games (I think it was the other time we played in the snow), and it hurt just to go up and down the stairs. I'm not that bad today...but I'm still sore and I think it's funny becuase I haven't done anything active in awhile so I guess it adds to my fatigue...... :)

Shopping In America Survey: Shoppers Pick Hottest Holiday Gifts Under The Tree

Hey, according to a survey conducted in The States, these will be the hottest items this holiday season. From toys, electronics, what to get women and what to get men, it's all there.......click the link for more info.

Shoppers' Picks

What surprises me is that the new Game Boy Micro got such a small percentage--you'd think it'd be a hotter item. :)

What's also listed in the link are the estimated percentages of people who admit that they take the opportunity during the holiday season to buy something special for themeslves, people who return gifts, and people who regift....returning or regifting? That's terrible!!! :P *Snicker*

Nothing much happened today except while Jenny, Geo and I were hanging out, we saw some brown kid (who looked like he was in Jr. High), dancing across his driveway with books in his hand.....'nuff said..... :P (Haha, in your face Jenny, I blogged about it first!! :P)

More Than It Seems....

More Than it Seems
By Kutless

Is my imagination running away
Or is all this really happening to me
Am I a prince in a far away land filled with fantasy

Where is reality and what are the actions that will define who I am?
I am holding onto the visions I've seen of what I could be
It's what I should be

[Chorus]
More than it seems these dreams inside (show me the way to these dreams)
Blur reality's line ('til there's nothing that's left of me)
If I could believe the dreams aside (show me the way to these dreams)
I am capable more than it seems

Passing through darkness into my own world
Will I be more than when I left (than when I left)
Never letting go of the lessons I learned
This will make a change
A change within me

This time I won't run away
I found the strength to face life's long days
This time I won't run away

'Til there's nothing left of me
Show me the way to these dreams

I'm stoked for The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe now because I've been hearing songs off the soundtrack from it gallore. The above song can be found from it and man, no one does it like Kutless....(keep the great tunes coming guys!!) :P The visuals I've seen so far from the movie are spectacular. The only downside is that Disney somehow managed to get the rights to this series so looks like the rich get richer....:P (although I've heard they've been losing lots of money as of late)

I can't wait for Harry Potter too...man, that's going to be a wicked movie.....no pun intended... :P

So I've finished the rough draft of my paper and it looks okay...I am hoping it'll good enough to pass me though. It is good that I can submit my paper a week early for corrections, but it's also a bad thing because it means he's more likely to submit it back right and give me work to do? :P

Okay, I just missed the bus and have to wait another 40 minutes for the next one to come. I haven't left the house for what seems like forever and I want to go out and get comics. What makes me want to leave the house so bad is that I had to sit through a 3 hour black out last night from 7-10pm and I could only nap for 15 minutes of it. The rest I just sat in my bed and at least I got some guitar playing done--what a good way to practice without looking at your fingers!! :) At least the lights came back on at 10pm and I didn't have to miss Amazing Race!!! :P What a relief. :)

Up and AT THEM!!!

So here I sit, still yet to begin my term paper......*sigh, it's always hard to start a paper isn't it? :P Let's see how much I can get done today...... :P

Wow, it's been great having Pastor Kat around. I really miss her but everytime I see her, I always have hope of seeing her again. It's never a "goodbye" with her but a "see you later!" type deal. We were hinting that she should be pastoring our church all weekend long and we dropped her off at the airport last night she told "you know I'll pray about it...." That type of statement puts me at ease and is a good statement to end all disputes. At least she'll consider it. We agreed last night though that she should be back but timing is everything. And this statement rings true in everything--God always calls us to wait.
"I want a job..." Wait.
"I want a car..." Wait
"Why can't I be with the one that I love right now?"Wait
"Bring Pastor Kat back to CPC Lord!" Wait....

"And we know in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him....."--Romans 8:28

How often God calls us to wait for everything in life. We'll just receive the full blessing that way....

Thank you God for a great sermon and fun times with Pastor Katherine.....it's only a glimps of of what you have in store for CPC what lies ahead......until next time Pastor Kat....we'll see you later.... :)

ITunes

Hmmm....do you guys ever just go through your work/school day and find a tune stuck in your head? Haha, sometimes I have tunes stuck in my head during exams and it's really annoying, but then when I'm doing something like chores, tunes can really make your days go by faster eh?

Hmmm...so what am I doing up so early? Dang, I have no school today, but here I am at school getting my portfolios ready to hand in as they're due today. My partner teacher wrote some really good things about me which I'm thankful for. They say that if you have anything bad in your record, it's OVER!!! Even if you don't do anything wrong, if your partner teacher say has it out to get you, it all goes in your permanent record and you're mad screwed! Okay...that sounded awful, but you get the point! :)

After all this is done, I need to head out as I have lunch with the mother today...which is almost every Friday now haha...this is interesting becuase well, you know how me and my family are! :P Seeing them once a month is enough for me! :)

After that, I got ortho at 1pm and then I got to do some last minute things for Bible Study Tonight with the older youth and then YAC planning....I think I might have come up with a good devotion too so if I get to that together later, I'll tell Leo that I will be doing the devo tonight becuase I can make it match what is going on tonight! :)

Hmmm...a really good CD right now for me folks is Passion: How Great is our God. I hate how most worship CDs will only have like 1 or 2 good tunes on them and the rest is only mediocre--which explains why I hardly buy worship CDs. I bought this one way back in July, but it's a GREAT CD.....I've been listening to it nonstop as of late. Highly recommended!! :)

That's all for today folks. Have a super day!! :)

Is all well between us?

So I got an email from my prof asking me if all is well between us according to me...She probably thought I was pissed at her or something. What gave her that idea? Was it the part when I rolled my eyes at her in class? Or when I swore at her accidentally....? Haha...J/K...I didn't do any of those things, but she did send me the email!!! :) Well, I was really agrivated in class actually; more so than usual. I think what she detected was the fact that I had just found out at that time that the gym nite wasn't going to work out for YAC and I had to plan something else. Thoughts raced in my head like, "It's not going to be as fun as gym nite, becuase most of the youth were expecting a gym nite." and "Now, I have to plan a whole new night....." and I was really pissed/discouraged about it. God has given me some games to run at church that night and I really hope it works out.....I think we can play these games without the help of the youth leaders to play the games. That statement didn't make sense, but what it means is, I need help running this night from the youth leaders please! :) Haha....it should be interesting and I pray that it turns out fun. This night also means that Bible Study is on for all the older youth and I will have a lesson planned so be there at 6pm or die!! :) J/K :)

"Praise the Lord, I saw the Light!"

After writing all my journals based on my feild experiences in Hawkwood School, I thought I was free from pointless work. Boy was I wrong! My prof made us go through the list of KSA's (basically a list of requirements we're required to learn and fullfill over the next few years), and write down which of these requirements we've completed beside where we think we fullfilled it in our journal writing. So basically if I "understand that there are various ways to teach and various learning styles" I'd have to put that beside a paragraph where I wrote about diverse learning. Does that even make sense what I just said? If not, then just think of it as pointless busy work! :) Haha...I guess one good thing about doing that was that I realized that I am meeting a lot of the requirements in my writing....my field journal may not show that, but I actually addressed a lot of KSA's in my Biography of Learning (which is another journal for another class I'm in!!)

Here are the lyrics of a cool hymn we should pick up at our church.... :)

I Saw the Light
By Hank Williams Sr. (Cover by David Crowder Band)

[chorus]
Well I saw the light
I saw the light no more darkness no more night
Now I'm so happy no sorrow in sight praise the Lord
I saw the light

Well I wandered so aimless life filled with sin
I wouldn't let my dear Saviour in
Then Jesus came like a stranger in the night praise the Lord
I saw the light

Just like a blind man I wandered along
Worries and fears I claimed for my own
Then like the blind man that God gave back his sight
Praise the lord I saw the light

I was a fool to wander and astray
Straight is the gate and narrow the way
Now I have traded the wrong for the right
Praise the lord I saw the light

Question

K, I got a question. Has anyone read the ENTIRE series of The Chronicles of Narnia? And I mean TRULY finished every one of the seven books!! The reason I ask this is because I am contemplating buying this series as Scholastics is selling the set for only $29.99 (good deal)!!! However, I remember reading them when I was young and I couldn't bring myself to finishing any of the books except two: 1. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and 2. The Last Battle. The rest of the books I remember starting in reading them, but never finished them due to boredom!! Well, I was in grade 6 at that time and maybe I might change my mind about how interesting these books are. Are they worthy to be bought? Are they good reads to buy? Worthy to buy just for the sake of collecting? HELP?!?!

Hot-Stickles!!

Today I got to switch classes with a friend and while she went to see my grade 1-2 class, I went to observe her grade 3-4 class. What a difference! It was cool to see them at work and Ms. Stickles in action was so hot! Well, not in the sensual way, but she is a great teacher!!! :)

Haha...I had this conversation with Geoffrey about popular children's picture books and I was describing this one character to him which I had no idea what kind of creature it was. All I could say was that it had long hair and was a brown creature who wore overalls. He said he thought he knew who I was talking about...but none of us knew the name. Well, I found out his name and I am sure you will recognize him below from your childhood too.

So does anyone remember this little guy? Does anyone have any ideas as to who this dude is? I'll be very impressed if anyone actually knows by name!! :)

Because you wanted to know.....

Okay, I guess we had a discussion yesterday as to how many different types of Kryptonite there are and what their various effects are. I had no idea; I have only heard of Green, Red and Black.....but because you asked for it, I google it and found this forum:

Different kinds of Kryptonite

Click the link to what others have found...some pretty interesting facts....a good read!! :P

Okay, well I was the first to blog about making a mistake on one of the writing assignments for education and then Jon Wong was 2nd by saying he thought he wrote one of his assignments wrong! :P However, today, after talking to some of my classmates about our Inquiry Proposal, I realized I didn't do it! I mean, I wrote 3 sentences and thought that I did it and then one of my friends told me the handbook told us exactly what to write and I didn't even have that lol! Praise God for lunch hour haha becuase I got it done before class! :P Looks like I'm more like Jacklyn than I thought with regards to do Education assignments last minute! :)

Order # 1 of 3 came in today to start off my picture book collection and it's kind of cool to see some of my childhood favorites in my hands. I made a mistake and ordered one of the books in spanish lol but good thing the book was damaged before I got it 'cause I brought it to Chapters for a refund. Hmmmm...it's hard deciding what books to buy becuase I don't want to buy books for the sake of building a bigger collection; I want to collect good books only! I also think I should invest in some chapter books too because who knows, maybe I'll be teaching higher grades so I want to be covered!!! :P

I went to Worship at the U today and I was REALLY glad I did because it feels like I'm being filled up again and it's been awhile. I don't want to be selfish that way, but it feels great to receive a touch from God. :) I heard a new song and it's got easy chords so I am planning on teaching it to the church soon haha......here are the lyrics

Waves of Grace
Words and Music by David Noble

The walls are high, the walls are strong
I've been locked in this castle
That I've built for far too long
You have surrounded me, a sea on every side
The cracks are forming and I've got nowhere to hide

(chourus)

Now I see
The walls I've built are falling
And your waves of grace are washing over me

My heart's been hard, I have been blind
I have often worked so hard to keep you from my mind
I have ruled my life, in a palace built on sand
I want you to reign, Lord, take me by the hand

Lord please reign in every part
I give my life to you
I open up my heart
I want to be like you, I want to seek your face
O Lord please wash me in your awesome waves of grace

Randomness

I spent over 2 hours on the computer doing online shopping. It wasn't bad shopping; it was for a good cause. I'm thinking of the future you could say. As suggested by many colleagues in the Education world, I just spent over $170 on....... CHILDREN'S PICTURE BOOKS!!!!! In the words of Comic Book Guy, "There is no emoticon to express what I'm feeling!!! :P

Another interesting random quote from The Simpsons said by Homer (which Alicia will definitely enjoy!!): "I like my beer cold, I like my TV loud and I like my homosexuals flaming!!"

Currently Listening to "Golddigger" by Kanye West feat. Jamie Foxx.

Whoo hooo, only 2 more days of classes until it's the weekend for this week! :)

Lots to be Thankful For...

There are a lot of things that can be taken for granted in life...to counter that, it's good to reflect on God's goodness in our lives and what He's blessed us with....

I'm thankful for.....

Family and Friends: you know who you are....I don't need to point you all out individually....if you've been there for me through a tough time or if we've shared memories together, I'm thankful for you!!

Salvation: Yeah, I know I don't measure up in so many ways...but I am glad I don't have to do anything to earn a spot in heaven. I have peace knowing that it's all by faith in the miracle of Jesus' sacrifice, that I know I'm fireproof!

Ministries: I'm glad I can be a part of the lives of our youth at CPC...I'm praying that I'll be everything you guys need me to be and I'll do my best not to let any of you down.

Education: I'm glad that I'm in the Education Faculty and I KNOW it was a Divine Thing fo that to happen! As if I could get in with the grades I was pulling off all on my own!

Health: Thank you God for allowing me to be healthy and normal up to this point; it's a real blessing! I'm blessed for being able to walk, see, smell, taste, etc. and be disease free!

Those are just some of the things we take for granted....It's been an amazing Thanksgiving for me--probably the BEST EVER!! 3 Turkey Dinners, seeing out of town friends and family, seeing 8 sisters get baptized, time to relax and get away from the business of life, etc...... it's been amazing folks! What a weekend! :)

Stop harassing me! :P

So most of you know (as I've been bragging about it for weeks), that my school had a 200+ children's choir and they performed today at the Saddledome for the CBE Centennial Celebration. It was exciting, because they kids got a chance to do something I knew I didn't have the opportunity to do when I was young haha. However, it was also REALLY boring....I mean really, how fun can a CBE event be? :P I actually didn't know it was a CBE Centennial Celebration until today haha....if I knew that, I would've stayed with our substitute teacher today ahah. At least that way, I know I could've left the school at 3:30pm or so. The thing at the Saddledome was long. It was speech after speech and the kids were getting restless. We didn't get back to Hawkwood 'til 5:15pm or so and even then, I didn't make it home 'til 6pm!! *SIGH* Great experience for the kids, yet a very boering one for me! :)

A highlight of that event was that I saw Mrs. Fields, the chick who was our principal at QE for our Jr/Sr High years. I'm not saying it was a great highlight, but it was an interesting highlight! :) Dustin Ma was also working at the Saddledome and he saw Mrs. Fields too....he didn't say hello to her either!!! :P

I've beening talking to some of my classmates and we were thinking about skipping a lecture here and there on Monday mornings so we could sleep in. However, after really thinking about it, I realize this is not going to be feasible. In my case class, my Prof totally picks on me as I think it's becuase she favours me haha. Everyone knows it (first years and second year students), that she only calls upon those she favours.

"Kingston, what did you learn about the lecture on Monday?" She's asked me that 2 times in a row already. "Kingston wrote a wonderful journal!" "Kingston, do you have something to say? You have that LOOK on your face!" Man, stop picking on me to share the details of my life in your class! :P I don't need the attention THAT badly!! :)

Okay Milton, I've started the first season of Lost. I watched the first two episodes haha...maybe I'll have the discs half watched after the holidays are done haha....we'll see, but I plan for Monday to be a BIG LOST DAY!!! :) Seriously though, watching this show is killing me becuase it's unsatisfying to watch; there are just too many mysteries and I truly feel LOST when I watch this show....ARG!!! I think this show and 24 are my two favorite prime time dramas now. I'm thinking of buying all the discs for both shows of all the seasons that are out on DVD....should I or shouldn't I? Hmmmmm......:)

Me..Gentle?

I actaully went to Worship at the U today which was cool 'cause I wanted to touch base with Kelly and Art haha. Lots of new faces which I don't recognize which is cool becuase it means that the Christian snobs who occupied the Council Chambers last year are gone! :P It's true though, I didn't see any of them today and the atmosphere was TOTALLY different. It's funny how you can really sense these things......I'm glad I went today and I'm glad that the snobs are gone so far! Lol...J/K.... :)

I can tell you that I'm still pretty negative about writing all these papers and journal entries in my faculty and I'm sorry, but I'm going to keep complaining about that as long as it still bothers me. :P What I do like are my profs (for the most part), especially my Pro Sem prof Dr. Donlevy. He said something to me that was pretty interesting........here's a sample of a conversation we had today....
"What grades do you want to teach Kingston?" Dr. Donlevy asked.
"Grades 3 and 4 probably...but I'm a generalist; I won't mind teaching any grade," I replied.
"Yeah I can see that. I'd send my kids to you. I'd trust you. You'd be a good teacher" He looked at my group partner and then said "Don't you think he has a quality to him?"
And then I asked, "What quality? What do you mean?"
"You'd be a good teacher...you have a gentleness to you...it's a GREAT trait! It's a quiet gentleness and we need more of that!"

Haha, ME?!?!? Gentle!?!? WAHAHAHHA, he should see how I treat the YAC kids! :P Well, I don't disagree with him. I've realized that in group situations, I am quite introverted at most times (though not all). Unless I know the group very well, you usually won't see me talk a lot. Which is why I never speak in class or take the lead to speak on behalf of my group when doing group presentations. :P Maybe I am quiet; maybe I am gentle.....haha....it's funny though because I love my Pro Sem prof; he's awesome!!! I think I appreciate him the most of all my profs!

I realized on Saturday while talking to Louise that I complain so much about the process of becoming a teacher but when I really think about it, my profs are pretty good for the most part. I really can't complain about them! *sigh*...how easy it is to complain about the bad rather than acknoweleging the good!! :)

When You're THIS BIG, they call you Mister!!!

So it was my first day at Hawkwood this week and let me tell you something, all the students have been talking to me!! Last week, they really didn't have much to say to me and I wondered if most of them really cared if I was around or not!! :P Today, they a lot of them were calling "Mr.Wong, can you help with..." and I am so not used to me being called "Mister." hahaha...I love it; it's awesome! It shows that they're wanting my help when they need some guidance and that they actually respect me when they call me "mister!!" WAHAHAHHA!!!!

I am finding it hard to read some of the material in my classes but I "speed read" a lot of it lol....by that, I mean I just read one or two important sentences and highlight them so I have something to say in class. Otherwise, most of the "stories" I could care less about! :)

By "speed reading," this gave me time to play X-Men Legends II today and I am finally at act 4 of 5; almost done!! :) I'd say 10 more hours to go? :) I also watched "Lost" today and I guess I'll have to watch season 1 soon...hmmmm...hope you're not wanting your DVDs back anytime soon Milty....hahah...I'm sure I'll start watching the DVDs once I'm done with the game...which I'm sure will be soon! :)

Anyways, I'm tired! Good night ya'll!!!

*Sigh*.....

Had my first lecture today in over a week and let's just say that I'm not better this week than last week. Many of you know that I was on a panic trip last week hahah.....well today, I had a chance to talk to a lot of my classmates and it appears that they're in the same boat as I am; they all want to be teachers but feel this program sucks crap! :P Their support is so great...thanks everyone!! :)

I worked hard to get my "Considered Response" paper finished on Thursday so that I could have the weekend off. Well, I did finish it successfully, but today I realized I wrote on the wrong question? How stupid can one be? Well...I don't know the answer to that question, but obviously stupid enough to write a paper on the wrong thing!! I just finished it though as we speak so thank God for that!! :)

Have you ever woken up with an injury? Or have you ever found that you have a cut on your body and you don't know where or when it came from? Man, woke up with a sore wrist today and had no idea when that happened? I didn't feel anything on the previous day so where did that come from? Dand wrist; it feels sprained....:P

@ Milty's yet again.....

So I'm sitting here watching Simpsons "Flaming Moe" episode at Milty's house; we're just hanging out until the others get here. I'm thinking of things to write about as I realize I haven't updated my blog in awhile. I want to try to avoid writing about my sore throat, as most of you know I am a huge baby when I get sick. It's not bothering me THAT much...but it hurts everytime I swallow and I wish I were sleeping at home instead....(or playing X-Men Legends II). :) But no, I will not complain about my really horrible sore throat; that's not me. I will not write about that topic.....*sigh....it hurts... :(

How Things Are Going

Okay, well I realize I haven't given much info about what's been going on lately; I've been busy writing journals nonstop that I am literally going crazy (and that's no exaggeration). It's weird because I actually considered dropping out of this freaking program becuase of the papers. :P It's weird 'cuase all this school work is driving me nuts and I'm actually getting scared to teach. :P Don't get me wrong, I love Hawkwood. It's an amazing school with such a positive atmosphere. No one yells at their students; there is only positive reinforcement. Every teacher who is there loves it there; you can tell when you spend time with them in the staffroom. There is no room for burnout because of all the energy. For that reason, I'm a little scared. When I do get a chance to teach in this school soon, there will be a lot expected of me. I know I've been thinking that if I got a crappy school, I could do a half-hearted job and still "look good" as an MT student. Here, there's no room for crappiness; you really have to do your best. I'm not scared to put forth the effort...but I wonder, what if my best still isn't enough? I know it's a learning process...so before you all write comments saying that we can fail and learn and all...don't worry, I'm thinking along the same lines. :P Still, it doesn't meant I want to fail.....

On a lighter note, yes, I DID watch the season premiere of Lost so I guess now I'm hooked. I need to watch season 1 either by borrowing or by buying it myself; it takes too long to download!! Man, what an intense episode. Yes, the commercials made it annoying but way more intense. I'm one of those guys though who can't wait to watch a show by recording it and then watching it commercial free the next day. I'm the most impatient guy I know!!! NOW, NOW, NOW!!! :) Have a super day ya'll!!!

First Day at Hawkwood

Man, I'm so tired; I was almost dozing off during some of our teachers' speeches and planning when they were addressing all of us student teachers.

Things went pretty good today; I really can't complain about anything. The students were really awesome for the most part and they seemed to generally listen to me (even though they didn't really know me). The funny thing is, my partner teacher forgot to introduce me to the class and during the mornings, while I was walking around and talking to them, they were generally listening to me when I told them to do something even though they didn't get the formal introduction of who I was. :P My partner teacher said before recess, "Oh my, where are my manners? I forgot to introduce the new person in our room to you all!" :P

For the most part, everyone was pretty nice to me. They all acknowledged me and introduced themselves. One of the teachers, Mrs. Paylor, even though she wasn't my partner teacher, took me and a few others on a big tour around the school. That was really awesome and I almost wish SHE was my partner teacher to tell you the truth. :P Though my partner teacher as is (Mrs. Plante), is pretty cool. She's Chinese too!

So it turns out that I didn't spell my principal's last name wrong when I wrote my letter of introdcution to him. The secretaries were wrong!! :P And that kind of made me feel bad when I thought I did lol. I feel better now! :P

My favorite thing about this school is how they actually get to go to music class. I didn't get that when I was in elementary; what the heck!? What did they do to deserve music class?! :P

Frustrating with Switchfoot CD

Well I finally picked up my pre-ordered copy of Switchfoot's "Nothing is Sound" on Friday and have been trying for the last hour to upload it to my Ipod Mini. What the heck?!? It's got this new technoglogy that apparently many Music Comapanys are trying to implement to prevent the sharing of music. I had the hardest time trying to put it onto my Ipod. Thanks to Tim Foreman, member of Switchfoot, writing on solutions to help people like me can put their paid for music onto an Ipod. Check out the forum at:
Tim Foreman
However, for some reason, solution "C" didn't work for me. It applied to me...but I couldn't burn the CD onto a blank one using Media Player so what did I do next? I decided to implement solution "B" by downloading CDEx onto my other computer and uploading the CD from there. It's working so far without any errors; please God let this work!!! :P I've been working on this for an hour so please work!!! :P

Curse you evil corporations with your music protection. The worst part is, they got a few Christian Artists to back up this music protection program like DC Talk, Steven Curtis Chapman, Audio Adrenaline, Zoegirl, etc. Haha...well, Switchfoot helped me get my CD onto my Ipod...which is a way to "share" music according to EMI......which is bull becuase everyone knows you can't share songs from Ipod to Ipod; you can only do CD or Computer to Ipod!! :P

BTW, the answer to where my credit card was lost at was at The U of C Bookstore! Props to Geo for getting it right!!! :) Half props to Jonny because he almost guessed it right; I did go to The Love Stop, but I didn't lose my Credit Card there haha :P Just kiding...or am I?!?!

Xiao Kun Qi

So today I realized I lost my Credit Card when I went to Market Mall and wanted to use it. I traced my steps back to the places I may have used it in the last 3 days; I called the comic stores with no luck! :P Well I found it eventually...who can guess where it was? And no, the answer is not "in my pocket!" It WAS at a store, but props to whoever can guess it. And no I'm not copying anyone with point systems....if you remember...I've been awarding "props" to ppl since naming my street fighter figures and the Marvel characters in that House of M poster way back in the day. Which Alicia got props for btw....and Geo beat Karen in Mini Golf, which I also gave props.

Man when I went to get the mail today, there was an envelope sent to "Xiao Kun Qi" and I thought, who the heck is that? They sent this package to the wrong person?!! ARG!! When I looked more closely at the address, it was correct....and then I thought "but no one has lived in my place before I have so who could it possibly for?" I thought about it some more and then I realized that it must be for my dad's new wife. :p I was upset not becuase of my initial stupidity, but becuase it turns out "step mom" is a Xiao!! Xiao = Hsiao....SICK!!! :P

What's up with me?!?!

Man with Education and all and everyone getting blogs, it's hard to find time to update my own blog and write comments on other ppl's!!! I'll try my best to keep up with it all though! :P

Hmmm...so yeah, most of you know that I got Hawkwood Elementary which is great 'cause it's so close to home. I plan on taking walks home if the weather permits haha. It'll be a 20 walk or so, but it'll be fun! I'm nervous as heck though. Despite years of experience with kids, everytime I go to a new workplace, I still feel nervous as heck. Haha, my Field Study Professor told us she lost sleep over teaching us for the first time and she's old and quite more experience than I am!!! :P I guess it's a natural feeling! :)

I also got Fort Calgary as my community workplace....don't know what to say about that because on one hand I have never been there and I don't know what to expect. It is also quite far away from where I live; that's another negative! :P Haha, on the on the other hand, I could find it very fun to work there so I am hoping for a good experience!

I ran into Marcia today and it was cool to catch up with her again. She's great...she talked about how I'm always the same deep down happy person I have always been; I always have a smile on my face. I told her that smile has been fading though I try not to let the world crush my spirits....but she said "Kingston, don't ever let yourself become like that!!" I'll try my friend...I'm trying really hard.....

And it's been awhile since I've posted lyrics to a song up, but I always do to express what I can't express with my own words.....so without further a do, here are the lyrics to one of my favorite Jars of Clay songs!!

The Eleventh Hour
By Jars of Clay

[verse]
Trace the shape of my heart
Till it becomes more familiar
To your eyes
I've been lost without you
Cold without your love
It's taken days and nights
To make me realize

[chorus]
Rescue me from hanging on this line
I won't give up on giving you
The chance to blow my mind
Let the eleventh hour quickly
Pass me by
I'll find you when I think
I'm out of time

[verse]
Take the place of my heart
Till I become a stranger to my life
I've been down without you
Wrong without your love
In time will I be what
You're thinking of

[chorus]

Out of time

[bridge]
I've been down without you
Cold without your love
In time will I be what
You're thinking of

[chorus 2x]

Time...time...time

Back to the Grind....

Man, orientation was so boring haha......I fell asleep so many times during all the teachers' speaches.... :P One of my classmates today mentioned how Education has been too "warm and touchy" and I have to agree! Please calm down on the emotionalism!!! :P I did enjoy my first class today with my prof. I get to meet the other profs that I have during the next few days and I hope they're as good (or better) than the prof I have now!! :) Even though I enjoyed my class, I already got assigned work to do!! :P Hmmm...but I'm too lazy to start today; I'll take today off haha...:P

I haven't been assigned to my school yet; I find out tommorrow. Also, none of my friends are in my classes as far as I know.....I ran into all of them and they're basically all in the Beta House.....not me, I'm in Alpha. No Fair haha!!! Oh well, time to forge new friendships. Human Contact: The Final Frontier!!! :P

Meeting the newest member to the family.....

Today I hung out with Jon Wong; we played some tennis haha. We had some lunch and watched some tv at my place for a bit haha.

I got an unexpected visit from my father today and we did dinner just now. He brought along his new wife and it went pretty well. This was my first time meeting her and she seems pretty outgoing. I still need to get to know her a bit more hmmmmm.......it feels weird having a new edition to the family. I have no idea how to treat her....but I am definitely not calling her "mom." :P

FINALLY!!!!

At long last, it is finished!!! Praise God!! And it only took me over 26 hours to finish!! Below are links to the finished product baby!!!

Picture of the product once finished
Close up pic to see the smaller pics
Picture of the product in a picture frame

Yeah it's a pretty nice picture if I do say so myself. Actually, I got this baby a few years ago for my birthday from Kim and Mark so I'm glad I coulf finally put it together.

"What else have I been up to besides putting this baby together?" you may ask. Hmmm..good question...not much but listening to lots of music and watching lots of US Open Tennis baby!! All my players that I'm routing for are still in it basically....now it's time to pick a winner....:)

Oh I also got to visit the mother yesterday and we did lunch. She informed me of some "interesting" news....a lot for me to consider and think about for the future. There's so much uncertainty coming in a year or so...but one thing is forsure: BIG changes will happen. Sorry, I have to be vauge on this. If you want to know, feel free to ask but I just don't want to say something will happen when there's no certainty it will!!! :P

"Ding Dong the Witch is DEAD...."

After a number of attempts to do it, I finally beat Karen in Mini Golf. The 'Queen' has been dethroned!! :P I am glad it finally happened as now she is out of town again to further her studies. Go back to kamploops and hang out with Shauna; maybe you can beat her in Mini Golf!! :P I also have to give props to Geo for taking her down too; congrats dude. It's been a great run, but the summer tour of mini golf has come to a close here in Calgary; see you all next year!!! :P

Thanks for showing us your creepy house Jackson; please don't punish me by locking me in that basement...:P The sad thing is, if you were to lock someone in the basement, they still need a key to get out of the house becuase that backdoor's screendoor is locked too hahaha....FREAKY!!!!

We played Pirates Cove yesterday and a new game "Munchkin" and I won both games!!! That's a first....maybe Jackson's right...maybe he is my rival...maybe that's why I was able to win both games because he wasn't there to manipulate others into attacking me. :P

Had a BLAST!!!

Okay gang, quick update....as I need to shower!!!

Thanks to everyone who helped out tonight; I hope that doesn't sound cliche but I am very thankful for all your work and time. I really love it when a plan comes together...but I was "James-less" today; dang I wish he came! :P And where were Curtis and Derek!??! And my "son" Jonah?? Haha....it was a successful night....and yet I was worried 'cuase I had really bad stomach aches the whole night and I made a few trips to the washroom.

I'm looking forward to a new school year with the youth and having the KFC kids come out....hope to see our DVBS kids out on Friday nights too!!

Thanks everyone for the best summer job of all; your presence and help made it so worth it. With this DVBS Finale finally over...I guess I am practically done DVBS 2005....except for the final report which needs to be submitted to The Board. Hhmmm....do they still want that?!?! :P

Will I be doing DVBS again next year? Who knows? haha.....still got lots of time to think/pray about it!

Nite ya'll! PAYCE!

It's a rather simple concept actually: if you drop something on the floor, WIPE IT DOWN with a towel!!!! :P

DVBS Finale/CPC Open House

Today I had lunch with Matt and Jon Wong and we did it ABC style WAHAHAH! I went to Matt's for a bit to hang out afterwards; we watched Return of the Jedi (or the best parts of it!!!) Haha!!

Man has anyone listened to Lincoln Brewster's music? He has a new worship CD out and I'm tempted to get it. He's got amazing guitar skills; it's simply amazing!!! And this guy gave up chances to possibly make it big in mainstream music to do worship stuff.....what a guy!!!

It's been really hectic doing planning for "CPC Open House" aka "DVBS Finale." I've had to send numerous emails, make up some brochures, talk to all the fellowship leaders to make sure everyone's on board and on top of that, talk to them even more just to make sure everything is communicated properly! Man, it's hectic!! All this planning for one night......I pray it all goes well. The only part I have to plan are the games still.....anyone have some good ideas for audience games which aren't the typical ones that we always do? Haha...actually, I stumbled across a pretty good website for some games...so I might use some of those!!! :P

Mini Golf Round 2...and LUGE?!?!

Today, I went to COP to do some mini golfing...and yes, you're probably wondering, "Did Karen successfully defend her championship?" The answer to that is yes, she did. In fact, I was six strokes over Karen....closer this time...but ARG...curse you CHEESE!!! She got some hole in ones again this time...man, either she's very lucky, very skillful, or she's really got God's annointing.....NEXT TIME YOU ARE DEAD!!! HAHAHAHA!!!! If anyone can beat Karen before I can, I will give props too!!!

I also got to luge for the first time today; I even got to to try the skeleton today by going down face first!! CRAZY!!!

Weekend Recap

It's been a great weekend with lots of hanging out and such.

Friday's Campfire was a blast; we had a lot of youth out and it really encourages me to see that it's going pretty well. It was our last day hanging out with the Newberrys. It was a blast this summer with you guys; come back and visit soon!

Saturday I went mini golfing with Jon, Karen and Crystal for ARC. Karen totally kicked out butts! One day I'll get my rematch and that day could be today haha....we'll see....:P

Yesterday, I saw fireworks from Andy's house and I had steak..mmmm...it was also my first time watching Ice Age....Yes, yes, yes.....I haven't watched it until now...will everyone stop making such a big deal out of it?!?! :P

Gearing up for School

Today I went to the Uni to run some errands. I got my student loan forms today and processed them this afternoon. I was lucky becuase usually there are tons of ppl lining up to get their loans processed. However, since they just came out today, I didn't have to wait in line; praise God! I also picked up my Upass and my textbooks from the Education Department. Wow...I can't believe it, it's really happening......Education, here I come.

I picked up some gifts for some ppl today too so I hope they'll like what I got them. I picked up the Inhabited CD as well...pretty good CD thus far.

Grace got her wisdoms taken out today and she told me things went pretty smoothly for the most part.....haha...*nudge nudge* :P

I am so tired......I don't know why, I don't do any work haha.....why oh why am I so tired.....:P Wait, maybe it's the cough medicine that's making me drowsy.....:P

X-Men Legends 2 News and other games.....

Man, X-Men Legends 2: Rise of Apocalypse has a release date of Sept 20th; I can't wait. I've been anxiously awaiting the full roster list of playbale characters and am disappointed that there are few updates on this. It appears that there are lists of characters floating around the message boards and so far, the most credible list is that which is listed below:

Playable X-Men/Brotherhood
-------------------
Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, Juggernaut, Magneto, Bishop, Nightcrawler, Toad, Jean Grey, Iceman, Sunfire, Gambit, Rouge, Colussus, Scarlet Witch and Cable

Villians
---------
Apocalypse, Bastion, Holocaust, Sauron, Stryfe, Abyss, Omega Red, Mikhail Rasputin, Sugar Man, Mister Sinister, Archangel, Lady Deathstrike, The Living Monolith,Grizzly, Deadpool, Stepford Cuckoos, Zealot, Garrok, Marrow, Dark Beast,
Sabretooth

Okay so the list for Playable X-Men/Brotherhood seems pretty accurate of what I was thinking except I didn't predict Scarlet Witch. I was guessing Mystique and am hoping she makes it in. I am hoping Cable makes the cut because he is so important to the whole Acocalypse storyline...besides, who wouldn't want Cyclops' son to be in this game? I hear that you get all these characters from the start, but I also heard that there are hidden characters you can unlock throughout the game such as Psylocke and Dazzler. I hope this is true because that would make this game WAY more fun WAHAHA. Reports are indicating that Activision is putting a lot of X-Men characters in this game but will be non-playable. So far I've heard, Professor X, Blink, Havok and Forge are among them; so everyone should see their favorite X-Man or X-Woman in this game, even if they aren't playable!!!

The villians list looks great although I didn't expect Zealot or Grizzly to make the cut lol. I didn't even know who Zealot was until I scoped him out at http://www.uncannyxmen.net
Hmmmm..yeah, if you don't know anything about the X-Men and are interested, or want to know more about the characters becuase you're going to buy the game, go to that site, it's a great resource. They have a huge character glossary where you can find all the details!

Speaking of video games, there's a lot of video games coming out that I want from now 'til Christmas. Here's the list so far:

WWE Day of Reckoning 2
X-Men Legends 2: Rise of Apocalypse
Karaoke Revolution Party (yup, a KR game for Gamecube...this game has 50 songs and you can dance with a DDR pad while singing!!)
Super Mario Strikers (a Soccer game with Mario characters!!!)
Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects (fighting game with Marvel characters!)

That's about it for now...PAYCE!

Here's My Heart
By Out of Eden feat. The Katinas

Dear Lord, Are you there, listening to my little prayer
I don't know Exactly what to say
I've been told that you love me, Hear me when i call, would help
me if i fall
I should let you have your way
What I guess i'm trying to say, is I need you in my life
Cause I know i'm tired of living in the past
I would like to take a chance on a change down deep inside
I believe that this is one that's going to last, So here is..

CHORUS
Here's my heart, It's been broken, It's been wounded
But i'll give it all to you if you would love me (love me)
Here's my life, If you want it, you can have it
I will give it all to you because you love me
(your love is everything I need)

Dear Child, I'm right here, through your worries, through your
fears
I've been waiting, for you to call my name
Oh you know, that I hear you, If you turn to me and trust my
word is true
You will never be the same
Well I'm standing here to say, that you need me in your life
Cause I know that you can't make it on your own
Oh if you would take a chance, Let me change you deep inside
I promise you will never be alone, So here is...

BRIDGE
You can turn to me and know that I am always standing by
I gave it all for you so you could have this gentle peace
inside
I will follow you 'Cause I believe in everything you are
I am your father, You are my saviour and in the matters of the
heart I am taking yours and you are taking mine

Today I went to the doctors to get my cough checked out for the second time and he finally prescribed me some stronger medication--the first time he gave me nothing. Mom took me out for lunch and we had some good talking time which is harder than you think it is because "talking time" is usually done with friends, not parents. Apparently she knows that I have a step-mother now hahaha...she asked me if I knew my dad was remarried and I said "Yep, for two years now haha!"

Grace called and we had a good long chat tonight. Seems like all I've been doing is chatting it up these last few days. Yesterday it was with Matt and Janet, Sunday there was a few people at the Allred's, and Saturday I had a great talk with Alice and Tony and a few others.

Crystal and Jon will be back on Friday at 5pm. I'm excited! There's some hilarious pics on Crystal's blog....go check them out if you have a passport password!! :P She's linked from my blog.

Education is coming around the corner and I can tell you that I'm a little nervous about how this is all going to play out? What if I get a crappy school? What if I can't hack it? Am I just worrying for no reason?!?!

Summer Recap

Summer Camp is now over and this officially means that summer is coming to an end. Just 3 more weeks, and I'll be back at it with school. Hmmmm...I'm gonna miss all my buddies who were around for the summer, but will be disappearing due to the end of the holidays. Goodbyes to Dick, AJ, Steph, Grace, Karen, Crystal.....man we had good times eh? :P

Matt's back at church and I couldn't be more excited. I hope we can keep him around. It's encouraging to know that one of my childhood friends is around.

Things with the youth are going great and I continue to pray that I can be the leader/mentor they need me to be; God help me.

DVBS is now over and I am clueless on how I'm going to run the follow-up event. Lots of planning and prayer is needed for this event. I hope Leon and Livy and many of the others can make it out every Friday.

Me tired and must get ready for bed....peace out!!!

Bonding over the Toilet Seat

Today, we went to Let's Play and I had a lot of time to play Four Square. That was my favorite elementary school game (that and soccer), and man, it brought back such great memories of recess and lunch hours. :) I remember how the older kids use to pick on me when I was very young and I got to do the same thing with the DVBS kids today hahaha. Me and my queen AJ hahaha.....

Afterwards, I went out with the high school boys: Jon Wong and Matt. We went to Big T's BBQ for the very first time (for me and Matt), and it was REALLY TASTY; we got the platter and split it three ways. I was so stuffed, but then when we went to Market Mall, I had some Marble Slab because they had Vanilla Bean and they are ALWAYS out of that stuff so I definitely had to get it while I saw the opportunity to. After that, we met back up with Jon Wong (because he had class), and shot some pool. I'm glad Matt called me to hang out; I'm glad I called Jon to get him in on it too!! It was such a great day! Good times and good talks.

One funny thing today was Matt and I had a bonding moment while we were in the washroom together. We were next to each other in the bathroom stalls taking dumps and talking while we were doing our business. Haha...don't ask me how that is bonding, but the Lord works in mysterious ways!! :)

One more day of DVBS!! :P YAC is tommorrow!! Summer Camp is just around the corner!! :) See ya all there!!! :)

Bless The Broken
By Rascal Flatts

I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you

[chorus]
Every long lost dream lead me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You've been there you understand
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true

Have I Lost Weight? Answer Below....

Hi all!

I've been getting SO MUCH fanmail based on my blog entries as of late. In fact, I decided today that I will be addressing one of my many fans by answer one lucky person's question. Actually, I only got one question that needed to be addressed, so I decided to do my blog entry in response to this reader's question. :P Flora from Calgary, Alberta writes, "Lost any weight from dvbs??" :) Yes, that is a good question...have I lost weight; have I gained any weight?! What's going on with the pounds in my life? I've read your question Flora and now here is your answer:

Haha, actually despite the poor eating habits I've adopted again over the summer, I haven't gained any weight to my knowledge. I was just telling a few peeps at DVBS today that I havn't checked the scale for many weeks, because I feared I might have gained over the summer. This is because at DVBS, lunch is provided, and that means I have little control over half my meals during the day. Also, there is so much candy floating around our program, I've been eating lots of sugar-filled foods. So you can imagine my relief when I finally checked the scale this morning haha....The only thing that could've been better was if I hopped on the scale today and found that I lost weight. :P Why can't I eat junk food and lose weight? Haha...that would be awesome.

Well there you go Flora; I hope that answers your question. Keep sending your questions in at:

questionsforkingston@intomyatmosphere.com

Until next time!

Wrapping up

It's been a blast, but I can honestly say that I'm glad DVBS is wrapping up. I'm getting really tired and it appears that I still have sickness which is lingering. The weather forecast looks really bad for Thursday...it looks like it will rain and our back-up plan for DVBS is Let's Play. Should we book or shouldn't we? ARG!!

"The older you get, the more cynical you become...." Is that a universal statement? Dang, I look at most ppl and to me, it does hold true. It's hard to find those who make this statement false...though I have seen one example...haha...can you guess who I'm talking about?

Can't wait 'til Summer Camp though; it should be mad fun. Hope everyone's excited and geared up for it....summer is coming to a close soon... :)

Long Entry...Brace Yourselves! :P

It's been awhile since I've posted lyrics to songs that state my emotional well being or have been speaking to me so here we go....

Yes I Will
By Bebo Norman feat. Joy Williams

In the passion of your sacrifice
I saw the prophecy fulfilled
Healer of the world, the wounded cry
I heard you say come follow me
So I will, yes I will

Follow you Jesus all the way up that hill (I will follow you)
Follow you Jesus all the way up that hill
To the cross where the river runs
Crimson even still, yes I will
Follow you Lord (follow you)
I will, yes I will

On the sacred path you bled for us
Scored and broken up that hill
Terrible the cross how glorious
I heard you say come follow me
So I will, yes I will

Follow you Jesus all the way up that hill (I will follow you)
Follow you Jesus all the way up that hill
To the cross where the river runs
Crimson even still, yes I will
Follow you Lord (follow you)
I will, yes I will

When I stumble in the darkness
Hear my weakness when I'm fearing
(Hear me Jesus) Hear me Jesus when I call your name
Oh help me Lord, Lord you help me Lord
Please help me Lord, Lord you help me Lord

Follow you Jesus all the way up that hill (I will follow you)
Follow you Jesus all the way up that hill
To the cross where the river runs
Crimson even still, yes I will
Follow you Lord (follow you)
I will, yes I will

Follow you Jesus all the way up that hill (I will follow you)
Follow you Jesus all the way up that hill
To the cross where the river runs
Crimson even still, yes I will
Follow you Lord (follow you)
I will, yes I will

Help me Jesus when I need rain

What a perfect weekend!! :P Got to spend time with Grace and she helped out for DVBS today too. Too bad she didn't get to meet my "son" Jonah though lol. I swear, things are going really well in that area of my life...things have started making sense in life....no, I'm not getting married or anything...no engagement news yet haha.....but the greatest feeling ever, is having my feelings sorted out. I think for the first time in my life, I actaully know what it means to care for someone like you care for yourself. Dang, I'm not saying I know forsure everything will work out in the end....but we'll take it one day at a time. I know I don't talk about this area in my life that often...it's usually because I feel like it's nobody's business or I don't want to hear "experts on relationships" tell me how it's going to work out. Don't put me in a box and tell me how my life will operate because no human can define my life and how it will play out. :)

I think with everything, if you follow God's rules and honour Him completely, things will play out the way they are meant to. Even if I was meant to be with someone for the rest of my life, if I don't follow God's will, I could end up ruining the relationship. Can you imagine losing the 2nd love of your life (1st behind God)???? What if you found the right person but you messed it up by disobeying God in a relationship? You might not break up, but you'd end up paying for your mistake in the end. It's not about forgiveness, it's about consequences. You could have an unsatisfactory marital life. Often times we think about finding the right person, but what if we found the right person and didn't know what to do with her/him? Whoever we pursue is God's property....CAUTION!! Handle with care!!!

I am praying that I handle my situation with extreme care....becaue though I care for this person, if I don't handle her right and the sitaution correctly, what kind of consequences could there be to my actions?!?
